You have inspired me to actually start doing some short hikes. After i retired from work my strength and energy levels were low and getting steadily lower - but i started van dwelling last December and have camped from NC to CA and back. My strength and endurance have improved drastically. And I'm looking forward to visiting Utah and seeing some of the things you have shown us. Thank you for your channel and your "never quit" attitude. Hoping to meet you on the road some day. Cheers & Hugs!!

That looked like a lovely July trip to Utah.......just kidding. I loved the Rochester Panels and thank you for showing those; I had never heard of them and found where they were on a map after watching your video. That is a place I am going to make the effort to see. I am with you; I love looking at the First Nations' art work. I am a bit different than you in that I love the snowfall and love to walk when the snow is falling, but I really, really don't like walking in high wind. I will do it, but I sure would rather do without the wind.

That part of the cliff is severely overhanging, so I don't think it gets much in the way of rain, but I was still amazed by how well preserved the panel was. Really amazing stuff. Thanks Barb!

Another great day. The rock art was amazing. Some of the best you have shown us. Utah has some really beautiful areas. Have you thought about putting a come along and a strap in your car for emergencies. Not terribly expensive and good to have in a pinch. Great video. Looking forward to the next. Davin
@SUVRVing6 жыл бұрын
Utah is an amazingly beautiful place, and there's still so much more to see. Yes, a come-along or heavy duty ratchet strap is definitely on my short list of emergency items to get, but I haven't gotten one yet. It would be a good thing to have. Thanks Davin.

What a pretty little arch! Very nice. Some of the rock art reminds me of the paintings of Hieronymus Bosch, scenes of the underworld with fanciful creatures, bur most of these are hard to make out and I would have to know much more of the culture to understand them. I can see why that one panel took your breath away. Thanks for posting! This is (as per usual) a wonderful video--- and I am a huge fan boy. :D

5:50 ... Whoa! That is a gorgeous panel. Also I believe that second panel, the one that had its top half calfed off, is only recently damaged as it looks like a famous panel depicting the Anasazi, or Ancient Ones. Maybe there are others just like it but it sure looks familiar.

That line with circles was very interesting. It looked like a timeline from dinosaurs to current (then) animals. The big ones later on are fascinating! I would love to meet the artist and have him/her explain all of the drawings to me! ~sigh~ This is from before you told the filmed date. Unless this is a REALLY cold May. 😂

Those art panels were fascinating!!! You make me laugh - I love the snow, other than driving in it - it's the wind and cold I don't like. But it is so good to see someone else getting out in other-than-summertime weather. I really like winter camping and hiking. As always, thanks for sharing!

TRISTAN! This is awesome! I'm so glad I found your adventure and early on! I live in Canada and it's pretty neat to see Utah with snow. I had no idea. I agree. Cold isn't so bad but the only time I found it useful is when I was guiding dog sled expeditions. And tubing, and Xmas day. But otherwise, yeah. It just makes everything more difficult. But. These videos are great. Great pacing and production and now, I need to go to Utah too. ;) how lucky are we now to have such nature AND such technology to share it! Can't wait to watch the rest until I can go myself. I think by then I'll have to trade in my mazda5. It really won't make it to the pictographs.. :p All the best!

Snow certainly has its place, but I'd prefer it if that place weren't also the place I lived and recreated most of the time :) And you should definitely make it down to Utah. I think it has the highest density of beautiful places of any state. Definitely worth visiting. Thanks Bonnie.

Did almost getting stuck make you think about adding a come-along winch and some rope to your supplies? When I got stuck in snow last year in Oregon why SUV RV'ing I didn't have that equipment and was out of cell range. I was ready to call for what would have been expensive help via my inReach when somebody happened by in an OHV and helped tow me out (with a $20 bill token of my appreciation)
@SUVRVing6 жыл бұрын
That's something I've been wanting to get for a while, but it hasn't been a priority. It's still on the list, though. I've been thinking of getting a Spot 3 satellite communicator. It seems pretty inferior to the InReach in basically every way except for the Save Our Vehicle (SOV) feature. It's an extra $30 a year or something ridiculously cheap, and it includes "a 24/7 roadside vehicle assistance program that gets help for you and your car, SUV, ATV, RV, trailer or motorcycle with the simple push of a button. It doesn't matter how far off the grid you go, you can always count on SPOT S.O.V. to get you out of a jam." That alone is worth it for me.

@SUVRVing6 жыл бұрын
It depends where you'll be. October in Utah and Colorado can be the best time of the year. It's gorgeous in the desert and often really nice in the mountains, but usually the first snow will fall in the mountains sometime in October. Sounds like a great trip!
@downhillanddeadlifts64896 жыл бұрын
Precooked bacon isn't as delicious as the raw stuff you cook yourself, but you get 90% of the flavor for basically zero effort. It's great to eat while driving as well if you don't mind eating it cold. Combine it with some pre-cooked hard boiled eggs from Walmart and you've got yourself portable bacon and eggs. I tend to handle the foods I eat at home (meat, eggs, nuts, vegetables) a lot better than going on a road trip and switching to fast food, then spending the first three days lethargic and running to the toilet (or bucket). I don't handle that stuff well at all.
@SUVRVing6 жыл бұрын
I agree. The pre-cooked bacon is good stuff! Not as good as the "real" thing, but definitely good enough. I'll have to try the pre-cooked hard-boiled eggs from Walmart. Thanks for watching and commenting!
