My friend, I love your videos, but I have a kind suggestion, could you please lower the music volume? I don't understand you quite well, the music is overpowering the overall audio. Other than that, your videos are exceptionaly great! 🙂 (Hopefully I'm comprehensive enough, English is not my native language).
@AridZineАй бұрын
Yes, good advice - the audio sounds fine on my end but I guess it doesn’t translate always for everyone. Appreciate the feedback.
@OldUskАй бұрын
I found oddly enough 2 strong variations in aloes shade and sun ones. Most aloes kinda take that red hue if they get alot of sun but i found large amount of aloe species that turn deep red and leaves start dying wich is interesting not from lack of water or etc.but because of too much sun and light wich is odd since all my other succulents and aloes kill for full sun. Move them into some lightly shaded areas they become incredibly virulent and thrive

My favorite Aloe is the polyphylla we had a large plant that was brought to us by someone that had been in Africa in the Peace Corps
@AridZineАй бұрын
Polyphylla is amazing! I had one in the ground but it never really took off
@timmillan6701Ай бұрын
Definitely my favorite Aloe, but not particularly easy for most people. You said’had’, is the plant still alive?
@timmillan6701Ай бұрын
@@AridZine I’m not completely familiar with your climate there, but I would think the issue with A. polyphylla there would be not cool enough - are part of the other ‘5%’. They don’t like anything much more than 80/85. I have one about 24” across that grows ina shallow (white) planter and sits on the deck unless temps are predicted below 25f. It has seen 20f a couple of times. In addition, it gets only morning direct sun. This plant loves the cold. I don’t think the aloe cutting you have is A. striatula- the leaf edge should have tiny serrations and more keeled- at least mine are. Lastly, another favorite of mine is Aloe haworthiensis. I just can’t keep them alive …ever
@lostasfkАй бұрын
awesome video. do you have any tips against root mealy bugs?
@AridZineАй бұрын
Thanks! They’re tricky bastards because you can’t see them - but if you suspect you’ve got them, get the plant out of the soil, spray with alcohol and let the plant sit for a few days to recover in a cool place. Imidiacloprid works wonders systemically but I know it’s not available everywhere and should be avoided with flowering plants, it kills bees.
