Im not joking when I say this but at one point I had literal nightmares about players in plat and emerald, specifically one wukong that kept inting my lane I dreamt about that player for a week. Playing top in emerald should be considered a form of self harm. I had to play Janna and Nami support to get out of there and not lose my mind.

As an Emerald top main, the number of times my jungler would try to sneak Grubs over punishing the easily gankable top laner pushing me under turret because their champion has prior over me early on is enough to make anyone go insane. They also get discovered by the enemy jungler partway through and my lane can rotate faster since the wave is under my turret and boom, dead jungler. And the countless bot lane double kills and first bloods given make playing top feel so weak as the game slips away because of the ego and refusal to accept they aren't the main character in the game. The smurfs as well that once they are tilted just run it down because it's not their main account and it doesn't matter if they win and enjoy being d bags.

I peaked in low Plat a few seasons ago and was kind of out of the loop because of uni and work and recently started playing a little bit here and there over the past few weeks (around 40-50 games or so). Unfortunately my placements started in IRON (???) and even though I won 4/5 it left me in mid Bronze. I generally feel like I mechanically outmatch every opponent in lane and thus emerge as the lane winner in almost every game but honestly at this point mechanics are worth nothing and if you can’t carry the map then every game might as well be a 40/60 coin flip where whether you win or not seems to depend entirely on whose jungler (and/or midlaner) is inting the least. Genuinely hard stuck bronze and it’s making me toxic af. I am not okay, send Elo!

Solo q has become rng. Yesterday, in 1 game, my top laner was 2/15 and my midlaner was 3/15. Faker would lose that game. The next game, my top laner was 0/8 and my midlaner was 2/9. Next game, My botlane together was 3 and 25. Those 3 games, i got ahead early as jungle and got the objectives, but impossible to win. Then i win my next 6 games, ALL MY LANERS LOST LANE, but only by a few kills, and i went 17 kills, 17 kills, 24 kills, 15 kills, 14 kills, to hard carry those games. League has just become rng on who rolls the inters.

Emerald is the true elo hell experience and i believe the worst and most difficult elo for the following reasons. 1st.(The smurfs) Smurfs are landing here , if you get a clean account lvl 30 after the 5 normal games if you manage to win 4/5 or 5/5 , it will place you to Platinum 2. 2nd.(The wannabes) The same logic applies to those who do not belong there and just bought a clean account lvl 30 and the silver/gold/platinum players landed there as well. 3rd.(The wall) For a reason to stop the hordes of low elos to climb to high elo , Riot invented the invisible wall when you reach emerald, by that means even though you use to take 28-30 lp per win on platinum , suddenly on emerald you start getting 20-23 lp. Which means even players who do not deserve to reach that division can climb easily from silver to emerald,with some luck on their shoulders. 4th (The unpredictable scenario) Each elo more or less has a specific tempo and pattern, how the game moves forward , how the players respond , act - react. However on emerald because it gathers all the elos due to the reasons above, the games are totally unpredictable regarding this matter. One game feels like diamond with high tempo and good macro knowledge the other game feels worst than silver.
