@@skeletorlord621 you are correct! As someone who has had a ocean fishing hook stuck in their finger before and had to take it out myself while out on in ocean (not fun times). You clean the area (I doused my hand in alcohol because that is what I had) and push the tip of the hook through the skin so you can clip the barb off and pull out the hook!

Yeah that was easily the nastiest injury. The cut was like a inch wide. Could only imagine what kind of damage that hand was suffering. Though the two men who fell over had the most debilitating. The guy who fell on the tree log might of been able to heal the muscles over time, but problem is both him and the last guy Tim can't even stand up let alone walk. And you ain't surviving in the wilderness if dragging yourself is the only way you can move around.

@hunter garcia It was deep was the problem. Most likely he caught the corner of it. Basic medical aid won't fix deep wounds. He needed stitches and there's no telling what sort of infection he could land out there with a deep cut. To back up my statement on this, I was raised by a mother and grandmother who are both registered nurses and my wife is in school to become one too.

I’ve had a hook in my hand like that before and I don’t know the severity of hers but you can usually poke it through the skin from the inside out, cut the line, and then pull it out. It sounds worse than it is but it’s definitely better than taking the hook out through the same hole, those hooks are designed to go in and not come out without a fight.

@@talexy9608 Tendons take ages to heal, sometimes they never do. If it wrapped around the tendon she could have pushed it through the other side without damaging it. Best way to get a fishhook out is to keep it going in the same direction. Pulling it backwards would make that notch rip through everything on the way out. If it went through the tendon it's definitely something to let a doctor take care of, not worth possible permanent damage to do yourself. She made the right choice to tap out. May seem like nothing by how small it was, but could still be quite serious. Wish they showed the a doctor's opinion on these once they reached a medical center

I can sympathize with the girl from 07:20, having had that happen a few times to me as a kid while fishing, the only thing you can do is manipulate the hook so the barb comes back out of the skin and cut it off with pliers so it slides right back out. Terrible lesson to find out not to stand behind or next to someone while they are casting, but an important one.

In real survival situations, it usually is relatively small accidental injuries that do people in. Chris McCandless, for instance; he was a _self-proclaimed_ survival expert who ran off to Alaska to live alone in the wilderness. Long story short, before he’d even established a permanent campsite he slipped on some rocks and fractured his ankle. Unable to hunt or gather, he quickly starved/froze to death. Always move slowly and carefully across uneven terrain, and for the love of god, be extremely careful with anything sharp or otherwise dangerous. You only get one chance.

Honestly the only fake looking one to me was the first one, the girl didnt focus on the edge, the third dude was an old man and there was slippery rocks so i doubt he would do that on purpose, the hook.....why in the **** would you stab yourself with a ****ing fish ****ing hook and the last one sounded like he was in actual pain but i dont know how real the fall was
