It's how oryginal story starts, by him killing himself, alone in the dark from 2024 is version when Jeremy didn't kill himself. He is also breaking the 4th wall, talking directly to the Director of alone in the dark from 1992. Maybe the game is supposed to be a tale, not 'real' thing.

Broken for me too. Got the cutscene but no achievement pops. Did the cutscene multiple times.

Their patch glitched this trophy and the very attic itself. Sometimes when you solve the puzzle, the screen goes black. I sent bug reports, and it doesn't seem like the developers are fixing it.

The developers released a statement saying they are aware the achievement is broken and a patch should be released in no more than 3 to 4 weeks

I couldn't get the alternate ending for Howard it wouldn't let me interact with the tree and i am just missing that trophy only for platinum im gonna have to play again froom his side to see if it that works

Up to this point, pretty sure you have to cheat. Even when you open the safe later-on, it won’t be the “alone in the dark” item in it.
