I love how you just got attacked by 100s of wasps but yet you didn't let it get you down!

Oh wow you handled the wasp situation pretty well. Those things can really do some damage especially out in the backcountry. Most of your trips are solo so please be careful out there. Your chicken and corn looked amazing!

Ha will there was a lot more cursing than I'm used to. I do need to be more careful, it could have turned out really poorly. Thanks for watching.

Just watching that wasp attack gave me a panic attack especially while being out in the bush. Glad it worked out ok! Thankfully you were not allergic.

Ha, thanks Shane. It turned out okay, it could have been a lot worse. I need to be much more careful out there!

20:23 well said--lol! I've only watched a few videos so far on this channel, but they are all really high quality. When I saw the thumbnail I thought it was a Steve Wallis video!

Ha, your comment made me laugh. I love my maple syrup! Thanks for your kind comments. I am a big Steve Wallis fan! I wish I had as much charisma as he does!

Thank you for the video. I appreciate all your efforts sorry you got stung. I am going to start bushcrafting. I am 65 and I just had hip replacement. My first camp will be on a e scooter with back pack.

Why nature created things like wasps, hornets, and mosquitos I'll never understand! Looks like a great island, that was a nice time lapse through the trees.

Hey happy to see you out and what a gorgeouse island and area suck's about the wasp's though, But you retrieved your saw , Regardless such tasty looking meals and excellent videography and some fishing on a peaceful lake. Have you ever tried a jointed Repla when you've gone fishing?. The more I see you use a hamock the more i think i should try one they look comfy. ya rain never dampens my fun either. yet another very enjoyable video .. Thank's Dave this was a fun video. Ontario.

Rain or shine ...and wasps. Why do we do it?
@DavidNorthFilms Жыл бұрын
Well, I can't speak for everyone but I think I do it because I am a sucker for punishment! Actually I still had a good time, I don't mind the rain. I don't like the wasps, I need to be more careful there! thanks for watching.

Over the weekend I watched a video, in this genre, and one of the guys (Canadian) was liberally pouring Hungry Jack brand ‘pancake syrup’ all over his pancakes. Isn’t there a law against that in Canada? I tried looking up The Ministry of Maple Syrup in Ottawa, so I could report him but, I couldn’t find it 🤷♂️😆 Most of my trips these days are multi night, ‘out and back’, no portage, Basecamp deals. Injuries and age have eliminated any desire to portage even though I have a pretty light Old Town Pack 12 Royalex canoe. I’ve grown to like the old man trips. I used to be a go-go-go paddler. Not quite to the level of Jim Baird 😆 but, I could put some miles behind me. Also, fishing always came before anything else lol. I’d rather do a 5 mile day and have a limit of fish than have a 20 mile day and be eating MH meals in the dark.
@DavidNorthFilms Жыл бұрын
Ha, yep the real Maple Syrup is a must for me! There's something nice about the basecamp idea, it's a bit more relaxing especially without the portages. I'm also not a big fan of the freeze dry meals, I was hoping for a fish fry!
@alanbierhoff6831 Жыл бұрын
@@DavidNorthFilms Just forget to bring the Fish Crisp and/or oil one time, and you’ll have a canoe filled to the gunwales with your favorite fish species. 🤣

Great video, shame about the wasps. Now when I lick my plate the wife gets a little irate, by all accounts it's not something you do in a restaurant 😂
@DavidNorthFilms Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what you are talking about...when it comes to maple syrup I lick my plate every time...is that weird 🤣 I can understand how that would iratate your wife! Mine would not be pleased!
