If he had so much going on he should’ve been contacted her at least a week or so before to reschedule or simply cancelled ! I’d be mad as hell too with a full blown attitude if I paid a deposit , flew out, had other things to do, and had my appointment pushed back not once but 2x . I would’ve cancelled myself & found somebody else to do my hair but it looks like she had no other options or wanted him to do it so bad . Then that wig wasn’t jet black or 30 inches & the install looked a mess . Even if she did touch it & mess with it SO! Her braids shouldn’t have been showing, wig should’ve never lifted & lace should’ve still been melted since it had only been 30 minutes. Alonzo messed up everything & was very unprofessional. Lace wasn’t even melted fr ! A refund don’t stop nothing . Her time was wasted, trip was Ruined & Head still messed up. She had every right to post!! He was wrong! this is EXACTLY why I spent 6 months on KZbin learning how to make my OWN wigs and do my OWN installs. I went to a few different stylist to have. my hair done and watched exactly what they did in combination with what I watched on KZbin...I also took a class from a stylist and I learned how to do it all myself because I refuse to let shit like this happen. Celebrity stylist dont mean shit to me...they have to get their hair done somewhere all it means was you happened to be the person they picked it could have just as easily been someone else you just got lucky.

As a hairstylist I believe him. I’ve had a client who told me she didn’t like my wig before because it was too flat lol because she wanted money back. This young lady came with an attitude because she didn’t like the rescheduling but I feel like she should’ve just canceled and took her money elsewhere. If you’re going to proceed with the appointment come with a clean spirit and free mind. If she got her money back it’s no reason she should’ve posted this she only did it because he’s Alonzo Arnold. I also took his wig class and he does sew his clients wigs down in the back. On the pic it looks like she cut the wig while cutting the thread off. The install was flawless and he uses tint not makeup. Lace does only turn white when your fingers touch it from the natural oils. He wasn’t making an excuse when he said it looked like she has been rubbing her fingers in the lace because there was hair along the hairline in the glue from rubbing. And Alonzo doesnt do baby hairs ever

I booked an appt with him years ago for my birthday, the day before my appt he tells me he only uses his hair. I already bought hair because he had an option to bring your own hair, tells me that he can no longer do my hair and cancels the appointment. My party was 4 days after that had to do my own hair. I never got my deposit back and was looking a mess for bday.

I mean the fact that he uses frontal wigs that are not even custom..literally a frontal and some bundles sewn on a wig cap and charges like 2 grand is a scam in and of itself. Anyone can get those wigs its nothing special. You can literally get a full lace wig that is a copy of your exact hairline and made custom to match your EXACT head shape and size for that price that will last years. Go to an ACTUAL real custom wig maker if you want to spend that kind of money. And the hair he uses is Chinese which is not expensive. Charging that much for a damn frontal wig is just crazy. You can learn how to make that off KZbin..I make on every month lol. And he didn't even go to cosmetology school so its not like he has an actual education to learned how to professionally cut or color hair either. Now you dont have to have an education behind whatever it is you do but your prices should reflect that. Do you understand color theory...can you create custom color formulas...can you do a proper color correct..? No.

Buying a house is stressful and so is sickness in the family but at the end of the day, it has nothing to do with the customer. The customer does not have anything to do with his personal life. He should've been able to realize "hey, this is getting to be a bit much, probably not the best idea for me to book appointments on top of all of this" and thus should not have made any appointments while he was going through that process. You also have to put yourself in the shoes of the customer. This person, as he stated, flew out to get their hair done by him. That's money that they wasted plus time if they had to take time off of work to fly out there. Yes, we're all human and we all have things that happen but the way this was handled was simply unprofessional and to the average person, would come off as carelessness even. He forgot about the appointment, he DID acknowledge the color this lady wanted because I'm pretty sure he said jet black when he was talking about the text exchange, and yet he still didn't do what she wanted, and didn't offer a refund right away. I'm pretty sure that the average person would be upset at this point, not just this particular client.

They have lives and families, and personal factors that not only cause the occasional cancelation here and there, but their personal lives are also an important factor in making them who they are and motivating our stylists to be the stylist we love so much. Stylists are their own bosses and the customer, as important as they are, don't run and operate the business. Last minute decisions have to be made on behalf of the stylist BY the stylist, not the customer. More importantly, Alonzo doesnt have a long history of unprofessionalism so the fact that a stylist canceled due to an emergency and it's getting completely condemned as if thats something he does often, is wrong. The client got her money back AND kept the wig . Alonzo repeatedly apologized and he wouldn't be the mogul he is if he had a history of unprofessionalism. I own one of his wigs and it's impeccable. Perfect craftsmanship. Would I be upset if he canceled on me as a client? Yes, of course. But, I understand things happen and can clearly see he tried to rectify the situation. It's just never enough for some people though. I like to look at things from both sides not just one. I completely agree it was an inconvenience to the client and that was very unfortunate. I just don't think he can be characterized as unprofessional because of this one, isolated situation. I'm not speaking as a fan, I just see how stylists are expected to be work horses for clients and they aren't afforded the ability to have an emergency...not even once. Susceptibility to an emergency cancelation is a factor in any career...my dr cancelled cause of corona....my nail girl is pregnant and canceled due to morning sickness, etc. I'm not a self centered customer that thinks the world revolves around me and I know if I want to go somewhere where the customer is always right I'll go to Burger King not one of the most requested single-operating stylists in America. I'm proud of Alonzo for defending himself. I'm a stylist and in the middle of an appointment my gallbladder exploded but I kept working in immense pain until my coworker called an ambulance and I still didn't want to go to the hospital because I had appointments and am not keen on canceling for any reason because my customers mean so much to me. I had to have surgery and all I worried about was my kids and customers. That's not right sis! Your well being, health and personal life should be in tact so you can deliver the service your customers want and need. Who am I to say my health emergency was valid but his house emergency isn't? Its necessary to look at this from both sides. Even if you think he was wrong wrong wrong, did he not do everything to rectify it? He isn't allowed to have a last minute emergency EVER? Think about what you're saying here smh.

I swear customers always act like the world revolves around them and we should stop everything for them. People have things to do besides you, it’s nice to be understanding. Clients cancel appointments all of the time not realizing they had wasted our time when other things could have been done and how much time we invest to prep up for your appointment. Now if my hairstylist asked me to reschedule I’ll be okay with because I want my hair to look good and not “sloppy”. My stylist cancel at the last minute before and not once I gave her a hard time and I told her it was fine things come up. Their personal life is more important than your hair appoint, you’re just a client and they can find more. Oh Boohoo, a stylist has more important things to be concerned about other than you.
