Darren, you're so awesome & such a master at your craft. I have a question for you. We're (my husband & I) Are building our babys crib & we have decided to add upholstery to the inside side panels to make it more comfortable for him & so he won't hurt himself when he's tossing & turning. We also want to add just on one side of the panel from the outside upholstery. How can we achieve this if both sides will have upholstery & will not be able to use brad nails for one side to secure it. We're planning on using glue of course however, we want to make that over time it doesn't come undone. Any advice/ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi Darren. I had a question, how do you make the back flat instead of with buttons? I am trying to do my own upholstery on a chair similar to this one but it has lines indented going up and down on the part that you put your back on. And I want my chair to be flat all around. No buttons no lines just flat. How would I do that? Do you have any tips?

veronica gomez I think the best way is to use knew foam and built the back flat first then put the foam on top by gluing it down.

@Asanka, not sure if Darren was able to respond to your question, however, it's called "upholstery tack strip" I believe. You can find some on Amazon, maybe google or your local arts & craft store.
