So I almost beat the game on very hard(stoped cause I didn't want to finish it so early) then this came out... Ultra hard is it plausible to do on a (new game)(not new game plus) so a fresh start where you won't get the ultra weapons and or champion points?

Hey All Might, I actually just finished the game for the first time in Ultra Hard, fresh NG (not NG+) so I would say it’s feasible but also a pain in the ass since machine can 1 hit kill and has huge amore while your weapon deals chips damage. However, I dont think it’s worth the time to platinum the game in ultra hard cuz it’s too time consuming, and might not be doable given some arena challenges are ridiculously hard. So what I did was finishing the game in ultra hard to challenge myself that it could be doable, then I do all the grinding in NG+ easier difficulty to get all the weapons maxed out before going back into ultra hard.

I would also recommend the Crit Boost Valor Surge with these builds, for those who don't have as many Crit Chance coils yet or for those who just want to spread them out between various weapons. Your Crits get a 50% boost in strength which is comparable to the strength boost you get from Ranged Master, thus it should be just as strong. Not needing to use as many Crit coils on each weapon is a pretty big benefit to using this Valor Surge. It will allow you to increase the damage even further by using other damage boosting coils instead. Yeah, it means you have less chance at Crits when not using the Valor Surge but will be even more powerful when you do. It's a solid option until you have played thru New Game + a bunch of times in order to get a rack of Crit Chance coils.

honestly, I beat ultra hard on my second playthrough without dying once, I feel like it doesn’t take a lot to be extremely powerful in this game. I literally just used a maxed out ancestor’s return with concentration and agility coils, utaru winterweave, and skykiller with powershot. Didn’t even sweat. I wish there was more challenging content where you can use your own weapons.

That multiple enemy damage is badass! Great video. I'm not sure the real benefit of using the Thunder Warrior armor though. The only thing this does increase concentration time, it doesn't add any damage or utility. I prefer the Utaru Winterweave armor with Silent Strike Gain and Stamina Regen weaves. This gives you stealth and smoke bombs capacity increase - without stealth boost on ultra hard it feels like machines spot you from like 100 yards away 😂 silent strike over heals you and gives you a double health bar and adds a crazy weapon stamina buff that stacks with stamina regen.

@@gmrjayz oh yeah I understand! I guess I just don't see the real benefit to the Thunder Warrior even going in guns blazing. The extra concentration synergizes with the concentration damage boost perk on the new Boltblaster, so I guess there is that. There's no real benefit beyond that though... You could even use the Tenakth Tactician for the boost to machines and bust our your raptor warrior 🤣 or the Tenakth Vanquisher for the low health bonuses. Not sure if you've also tried using Carja's Bane instead of the new warrior bow with all melee follow up coils (it also has a perk for this) you can use silent strike with the winterweave set up for the huge weapon stamina buff, wack the machine once with melee and then spam spread shot - it'll hit for multiple thousands with each shot. I need to try chain burst though for sure!

@@SuhaylKhatib I always use the Utaru Winterweave armor - it comes with your two stealth boost perks by default. Low Profile and Quiet Movement. Weaves are Silent Strike Gain and Stamina Regen - these stack. Every Silent Strike doubles up your health and gives you a really high weapon stamina regen buff, you also get a valor buff. Make sure to abuse Smoke Bombs to go back to stealth and refill health with more Silent Strikes. Typically I take down large machines with Boltblaster similar to this video, medium and small machines with Carja's Bane warrior bow. Freeze machine - Smoke Bombs to return to stealth - Silent Strike - melee attack - spam Spread Shot. Bow should be equipped with all melee follow up damage coils. You can use the Ropecaster also to tie down anything dangerous. Larger machines you can use the Boltblaster with Sustained Burst full of either long range damage or close range damage coils.

Have to say, I've not enjoyed the combat on this one as much as Zero Dawn. In Zero Dawn combat was like a dance, you would asses the situation, the dino's involved, and plan a attack. In Forbidden West its just a case of going steaming in with your strongest weapons.

Fuck no! Braindead take. For one, in Zero dawn, the machines and humans are a lot less dynamic, dumb, and easily exploitable. You go in with one strategy all the time and it works. Secondly, what may look like steaming in with your strongest weapons IS the careful planning and theorycrafting. It looks panicked and disorganized but the planning you can do on HFW is a lot more rewarding and satisfying, especially considering the fact that the enemies you face are also a lot more intelligent and dynamic.

It actually appears that the Concentration Buff might not be functioning properly on the new Boltblaster. It seems to be multiplying the final damage numbers by 20% and not the base damage numbers and then adding it like it should be, hence why you see such a large increase in damage just from the Concentration boost.

I am still so devastated to find out they freaking nerfed Braced Shot! That had become such a staple of my playstyle to use it from Stealth, and now it's damage output has been heavily reduced! The only issue with Brawlbreaker is that 8% instant slowed chance. It will interrupt your max frost build up and of course, your damage is lowered.

I would recommend using Component Tear coils instead of regular Tear coils as the values are higher. They in fact do work on Tearblast Arrows when targeting components.

Wow.... I just booted up for the first time since the newest patch & noticed that most weapons have had their buffs nerfed significantly! Many weapons have had their boosts reduced from 40% to 25%. Guess this is their way of balancing things now that the weapon buffs actually work as intended. This really changes things though & means the weapons in the game need to be re-evaluated, as some may be far more useful than they used to be now that the buffs are working correctly.

Boltblasters get a 10% built in Crit Chance @ 2x damage and the Blast Forge has a 15% Crit chance bonus built in, so throwing a couple Crit Chance Coils on it along with those Close Range Coils isn't a bad strategy either. Will allow you to change things up a bit when fighting weaker foes. Can use the Spread Blast technique to make short work of them. Nice thing is Spread Blast can also Crit unlike Sustained Burst. Would make both the Warrior Bow and Boltblaster pair really well with that Crit Valor Surge.

did this with my Iriv's Downfall and downed a tj in 5 shots, one tb arrow to uncover the data nexus and 4 adv. schlarpshclot arrows after applying crit chance up coils and range master valor surge.

The only thing that frustrates me to no end about the Elite Ropecaster is sometimes the ropes just will not stick no matter what I do! I dunno if it's a bug or what, but sometimes I will literally go thru 20+ ropes and only a couple will stick. Each time I do a full overdraw of course and I dunno if this matters or not, but it really makes no sense. The ropes just keep breaking instantly for reasons I don't understand... If you know why this might be, please help!

sooo you started a run on uh and then restarted the run bc it was too hard i did my initial run on normal diff. and did lots of side quests and did essentially everything including most legendary weapons. then i played my ng+ on uh and practiced for ages by going to every tallneck and clearing the translucent fog of war, therefor discovering every machine site along the way and absolutely destroying those dammed spikesnouts for their volatile sludge.

One other armor I would recommend and I think is the absolute best is the Tenakth Vanquisher armor, but with some tweaks. You can get the Stamina+ and Stamina Regen+ coils from other outfits. Putting all together, when you're in critical health you have: - A lot more damage - A lot more defense (you're basically immortal, stuff that kills you in this state would one shot you from full HP with a normal armor) - More valor generation (actually I think is the same as the Thunder Armor) - No need to use healing anymore, since you automatically heal to 172 HP which is more than enough for everything with this set - With the coils, a lot more Stamina and the Stamina Regeneration of the Thunder Armor You only miss a little bit of Concentration time and regen, but honestly I think that's very minor in comparison to the massive boost you get from the low health perks. The only annoying thing is that getting to critical health state is a bit annoying specially if you're farming a big machine and you just died. Chances are you are going to get one shot by pretty much anything from full health if you get hit xd.

I am often the firs to admit, I am a horrible gamer. I rarely play anything other than Normal Mode, and usually in video games, I die...A LOT! In Horizon Zero Dawn..I died....A LOT. In Forbidden West. I died..a few times. Like, significantly less than just about any video game I've ever played before. In fact, I thnk the first time I remember dying is the when I ran into a couple of Ravagers unexpectedly and I was still using green level weapons...which was like a week or two into playing like 2 hours a day. The next tine I remember dying after that was running to a Frost Claw surrounded by a bunch of Claw Striders just west of an ice covered mountain and I was using blue level weapons.. Its kind of crazy to think about...

Why not just use Iriv’s downfall instead of Forgefall? You can still install the same coils on it. Its tear damage is higher and it has tear arrow. The only downside being the lack of draw speed perk but you only use sharpshot bow for the opening shot anyway.

All vendors have limited stock on weaves and coils. So yeah, you would be on ng++++ w/e to get all the weaves/coils you want to get on a weapon. Minimum 3 playthroughs for 6 total of a particular one

That is not a bad idea on the coils especially when they stack, but imo I prefer the tenakth vanquisher, it offers low health; valour, melee, defence, ranged, and also more evade and valor surge master, as you can get hit a lot and take a considerable amount of damage this is great for ultra hard especially the coils which give you resistant to damage and second wind if you are 1 shot, I will try the coils on the guns, I don't use them often but they can come in handy for thunderjaw and bosses 👍👍

Why is everyone talking about Ultra Hard in NG+, i want Ultra Hard just in New Game. Since i bought the game 5 days after they added the update. Everything kills me in two hits, and i always, ALWAYS play games on the hardest difficulty setting. Or if there is none like Sekiro, Elden Ring, Bloodborne, i play like it is intended to play. But this and Give me God of War Difficulty are just too much.
