Im from Peru. I glad seeing this people who care this typical peruvian species . Baby alpaca and Vicuna fabrics is a valuable product here in Peru, the most important brand tell KUNA . For information, the farbrics in quality order . 1. Vicuna, 2. Guanaco. 3.Baby Alpaca.

Be careful of smuggling vicunas out of the andean region (already happen with alpacas) into other countries (usa, china) will take advantage and will mass produce and leave the andean region without jobs.

Don't forget that alpaca is some of the healthiest red meat you can eat. I live about 20 miles from the largest alpaca farm in north america (1400 head) and they do free meat delivery (delicious).

In Peru, alpacas and guinea pigs have been the ONLY source of meat for thousands of years, before Spaniards came to America. That's the reason why these animals got domesticated. Peruvians still eat alpacas and guinea pigs nowadays and we can ascertain that they make some of the leanest and healthiest sources of meat. Zero cholesterol and delicious taste.
