I was stationed in northern Germany in the mid 1980s, I volunteered to work on a German cow and pig for a week, it was the first time I ever drank fresh milk with the cream and all, the food was also awesome. But, there was not much time for singing and dancing, That farmer worked the heck out of me, up before sun shoveling pig poop, cow poop, feed, I lived for breakfast, lunch and dinner, because those were the only times I could sit down. I gained a new respect for farmers and farms. I love this video so happy, I sure wish that the farmer had daughters like the girls in the videos

I speak fluent German and I was wondering 💭 why I couldn't understand what they were saying? Now I know!! They were singing in Dutch!! Some people might not know this but Dutch is the language of the Franks. At least, according to what I've read online. However, German and Dutch are both very similar to each other. Goeden Dag!!

I really love how the Alpenzusjes often have their own, rather cheeky, dutch versions of other pop songs. For example, 'Wienie Wienie' is the dutch version of the 1963 german pop song 'Wini Wini' performed by the Tahiti Tamoures. A video of this song is available on KZbin.

And though I've been studying Dutch for the last few years, I've little idea what the lyrics mean, as Dutch is a very difficult language. Though I also have to admit that foreign languages aren't exactly my strong point.

Yes, that's very rare to hear that someone wants to learn Dutch. You could always visit first and NOT visit the capital or the whole west, their accent sounds a lot harsher. The 2 women in this video come from the south of the Netherlands.

Alpine sisters Biography Chantal van Geelen and Kirsten Stroek together form the Alpenzusjes. The two cheerful girls know each other from their education at the Brabant Conservatory and Dance Academy in Tilburg where their friendship soon felt like friends for life. Chantal and Kirsten are two party numbers that love to turn the tent upside down and turn it into a party. Nothing is too crazy, with their party music they make the audience “Totally Dol”! Their first hit "Forward, Back" released in 2011 is to this day one of the most played records in the nightlife. The successor was the "Jungledans" which was in turn succeeded by the hit single "Hutje op de Hei". After the hit “Kontebonke”, the Netherlands is transported in 2014 with an absolutely fabulous party number: Hoemparapapa! And what about the fall release in 2014? The fantastic "Wienie Wienie". The Alpenzusjes bring a modern, festive show with lots of interaction, especially in the NOW! Chantal and Kirsten are guaranteed to get the public going for every FESTIVE occasion! Aber, im Swizza Deutsch es ist "Merci vielmal" - a mixture of français und deutsch. You need to speak both languages in der Schweiz, and Italian is also useful - few Romandes and Ticinos will understand you in deutsch.

It took me a while to realise they actually sing in dutch, which then lead to the discovery that they are in fact dutch.( Alpenzusjes means something like (Little alpine Sisters, zusje being the diminutive of zus, english sister.) Further scrutiny revealed that the video was shot neither in the netherlands nor in Bavaria or any other alpine setting, but in the county of Olpe, some 60 kilometers (37miles) east of Cologne, evident through several license plates visible in the video, as well as the architecture and landscape (including the cows) being very much not typical alpine. The most surprising discovery however was that these wild inconsistencies made the whole thing even more fun and endearing to me.
