openboosters Some of the new stuff does have great art but it's all too "CGI" for me. The older cards actually look like they were all hand painted. Personally I think it's much more pleasing to the eyes.

Just to circumvent some questions. Yes these are very expensive. A Black Lotus depending on set and condition is valued anywhere from $3000 (usually higher) to $8000+. If a single scuff results in a 10% loss of value it is a considerable amount. And while most cards don't hit the $2000+ of the Power Nine (9 very powerful expensive cards one of which is Black Lotus) Many of the rarer cards from these packs can be valued upwards of hundreds of dollars. In some cases the unopened boosters run at about the same price or more with only a chance to pull those cards. So yes slowly opening the packs is necessary and doing so with gloves is more so due to the oils on skin. (This is mostly a rant due to comments from people who don't really understand the value of the cards. I know that, for example, Weatherlight boosters only cost about $10.50 right now and would not be in the league of the uber rare cards or packs.)

Sometime around when Mercadian Masques came out i started playing. I was only 9 or 10 at the time and my dad bought two decks that came in deck boxes similar to the alpha deck box. i got one and my step brother got one. i clearly remember when we opened them my step brother got an ivory mask in his, and looking back at the mercadian masques block i remember a lot of the cards being in these decks. does anyone know what decks these were? i cant find any info about them anywhere. i seen one a few years later at another card store as well, i bought it and got the ivory mask in that one too. unfortunately i no longer have my older cards so i cant just go look. any ideas?? thanks

So, you said you put them BACK in the booster pack, that's how you knew what the rare was. So you wrapped the cards, (not the whole pack) in plastic and put them back in the box? Oh never mind. you took the cards out, but didn't cut the wrap........and saw the warp artifact on top

I love the videos but my one point of contention would be setting up the cards like you do after you show them. It takes time and I feel you're just setting up a situation where they could be damaged. It really detracts from the videos for me. I feel like you should just set them in a little pile. We're watching on youtube so if we want to go back and look at the art or at an individual card we can just pause it and go back. Just not a fan of setting them up on an angle like that. Or if you absolutely must do it get some kind of stand. Like one made of plastic or wood to set the cards on. That way it won't take extra time, they won't fall down, and they'll always be at the same angle every time.
