Haunted lake, called lake Rottenwood, has a history of religious cults, has a history of an entire village dying, reported to have weather disasters, sacred rituals were reportedly done during said weather disasters. Coupled with everything this protagonist said in the beginning I don't think there are enough textiles in the world to accommodate all the red flags.

The monologue is a bit on the nose "Oh boy! I finally get to go into the Dreaded Forest where hundreds of people have gone missing for the past few years all by my lonesome! I don't want any distractions, so I'll just leave my phone - my only means of communication and calling for help - behind, and I made sure no one knows where I am! There have been reports of strange and horrific sounds coming from the forest, pictures of some shadowy misshapen creature in the newspapers, and local police have found the remains of people and animals torn to pieces hanging from the trees, their blood splattered and spread all over the slimy mud that never dries, but I don't feel any need to bring a weapon to defend myself from any wild animals or crazy people!" "Welp, here I go, just as the sun is setting, bringing only a flashlight that I didn't give fresh batteries, and wearing sandals, shorts, and a shirt!"

A lake is an area filled with water, localized in a basin, surrounded by land, apart from any river or other outlet that serves to feed or drain the lake. Lakes lie on land and are not part of the ocean, and therefore are distinct from lagoons, and are also larger and deeper than ponds, though there are no official or scientific definitions. Lakes can be contrasted with rivers or streams, which are usually flowing. Most lakes are fed and drained by rivers and streams. Natural lakes are generally found in mountainous areas, rift zones, and areas with ongoing glaciation. Other lakes are found in endorheic basins or along the courses of mature rivers. In some parts of the world there are many lakes because of chaotic drainage patterns left over from the last Ice Age. All lakes are temporary over geologic time scales, as they will slowly fill in with sediments or spill out of the basin containing them. Many lakes are artificial and are constructed for industrial or agricultural use, for hydro-electric power generation or domestic water supply, or for aesthetic, recreational purposes, or other activities.

I love the gameplay, and the game itself is juuust the right length for what it is and what it does. I also really love the sea monster. The only things I would change are 1) adding a few more fish to catch since the fishing is at least half the game, if not more, and 2) the ending. It just sucks flat out, and needs to be changed. I understand the "suspenseful cliffhanger" thing the game was going for, but it just doesn't work here. This is obviously a game that will get no sequel, so we'll never get closure by finding out what did or didn't happen to the main protagonist here after the flash and rumble that occurred when he completed the ritual, so we'll never find out that way. And the whole "mysterious" ending just doesn't work with how sure the character was right about getting home the whole time when he was right about EVERYTHING else in the game, or did he just accidentally follow the rules to a sacrificial ritual and feed himself to the sea dragon demon? After all that time, effort, fishing, running, reading, and collecting...I WANT TO KNOW THE FATE OF THE G-D CHARACTER THAT I'VE BEEN BABYSITTING FOR WHAT WHAT FEELS LIKE DAYS, AT THE END OF THE GAME, WETHER THE RESULT IS GOOD OR BAD. Not a freakin' cliffhanger that I know for a FACT won't be resolved. I'm pretty salty about that design choice, honestly lol but the rest of the game really is pretty good overall. 7.5/10 - Would play myself (if I had a good enough computer). Edit: **Spoilers*: The game dev was cool enough to respond to my whiney rantings to explain the ending, though I guess it should have been obvious in retrospect, if I didn't over think it. I'll bump my original score to 9/10, still would play myself if I had a computer that could run games from later than 2007.

My ancient computer isn't good enough to even run the necessary programs that go with the game development course I paid for like two months ago now-_- Plus being broke, living off a $500/month government disability check doesn't really allow for me to buy much in the way new electronics like a gaming/game dev capable computer or laptop lol but yeah, I guess I know what you mean. I was just confused wether the protagonist got got, or if they warped to another dimension again because of the white flash and the beginning of the game, while the roar might have been the monster just being pissed it missed it's target. I got yuh though, thanks for the closureX] That's pretty cool.
