Another thing to notice is that from my experience, starting fab the past month, the playerbase of fab is more mature and tends to focus on specific heroes so they prefer to buy the cards they need/want instead of gambling.

Hilarious seeing the MetaZoo comparisons. The only thing FaB has in common is they started around the same time. FaB has a constantly growing and competitive playerbase, and they also cater to collectors with stuff like cold foils, promos, and Marvels. With over a dozen sets released, I'm pretty sure they're here to stay!

Singles outselling Boxes comes from one thing, Players. This market is driven not by collectors and heavy bag investors that want to 2x by the end of the year, it's driven by the overall meta and cards that sre either seeing play, or not seeing play. Collectors have incentive to collect through the Coil Foil Reprint Policy, and Marvels becoming more and more of a chase rarity in newer sets, but unlike a game like One Piece, we know print runs and the game is adequately stocked. You're not 10x-ing in this game unles you make a meta call on some random Magestic in a class that has seen 0 play, but is due up for support.

The doubters are not players, they're investors who want to make money on the game by holding and selling boxes, which will never be profitable with any set moving forward. Anyone that actually plays FAB tends to really enjoy it and know it's sticking around because LSS is a fantastic studio always striving to improve the game and Organized Play.

Fab heavily caters to competitive players at the moment, so it makes sense. Everything is about getting just the cards you need to build your deck. I think their next step as a company has to be finishing their PvE format, because they can then hold on to the more casual players.

Maybe I'm just unlucky, or maybe the other stores aren't calculating EV correctly, but I opened entire shipments from a distributor of around 140 boxes and wouldn't get the 1 expensive Marvel and would lose money, or you'd get like 3 cold foil legendarys out of the entire shipment. And the singles do not move well. Singles often wouldn't sell at all until the Monday after set release, presales is pretty much not a thing, and you sit there watching the fable drop to $50 or less. Plus, the commons and rares are generally 100% worthless. The EV appears to be there when you calculate it up to release, but the sales just don't happen reliably, then you watch as the EV crumbles cause the sales are super slow. I wouldn't recommend any store do mass box openings of FAB.

Completely agree. After watching this video I did some research and sure at quick glance seeing the cost of a box or case and some singles prices you're used to MtG, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh and pokemon like I currently am and you initially think it's an untapped gold mine but straight up a tcg needs collectors if you want to profit from selling singles. It's only players in FaB which is cool but you're not going to sell nowhere near the number of singles you will think. If you don't get lucky and nab one of the top hero Marvel cards you're not 10xing or anything close to what Rudy is saying. Straight up if it was possible it was already done and over with as by thr time it comes to youtube its too late anyways

This might be a controversial talking point but I hope people hear me out. I genuinely think LSS needs to open up a smaller section of distribution to places like Walmart and maybe one or two other stores. It’s just free advertising at that point. Just keep sending most of the promo cards, products and print boxes to the LGS businesses and get the word out a bit further, because I think by not expanding at least a little bit the company is choking itself out a little bit.

There is a huge discrepancy between sealed and singles because there is no volume. If FAB had the same sales volume as Pokemon or MTG, then the delta between the box and the singles would narrow. This arbitrage of cracking boxes vs playing the game exists because there is something unhealthy with the market.

I think my local card shop got rid of their F&B . I walked in one day and they were selling all of their booster boxes for like $50 after they were trying to sell them for like $60ish and no one bought them at that price. Like Rudy said, Those who are playing the game are just getting Singles. But I think some guy came in and bought them all up for $50 each, They were from the newer set so i don't think they were even worth that much, The owner just didn't want to be stuck with them so they did a Flash sale. Getting your money back with little profit is better than being stuck with the product. it's definitely a Neesh card game in my area, literally no one plays it at my locals.

Rudy saying FAB needs to treat its businesslike WotC? It doesn't cost them any more or less when printing the cards. You could have a set of all seralized cards and a set of all commons. The cost to produce those sets is the exact same. So just because the singles market is high, does not mean they are underselling their product. If there isnt enough sealed product on the shelves for people to buy, and its difficult to keep up with the demand. Then, yes increase the price of the sealed product.

It's not really a major TCG since Bushiroad sucks as a company but Shadowverse Evolve has a lot of that same vibe as FAB with its singles vs. box prices. Boxes are in the dumpster but the cards inside them are absolutely nuts and desirable. People are letting boxes go for significantly cheaper than what the cards inside are worth. Unfortunately Bushiroad is Bushiroad and are terrible at recognizing a player's market requires real intense support from the publisher to snowball into long term success so they're letting it rot on the vine unlike LSS.

the thing about LSS and FAB... they aren't flashy. They aren't doing the cross promotion.. aren't doing the licensing.. they aren't doing the big presence at the Cons... they are just releasing quality product, quality sets... and as you said just crushing the OP scene. Also with virtually no rotation.. it means that EV of sets actually fluctuates.. Monarch dropped significantly.. now it rose back up because of Dynamo, Great Library, and 1E cases going for like $300.

There are three possibilities: 1. Box prices rise, 2. Single prices fall, 3. Both, and they meet in the middle. For this reason, it would be natural to assume that the correct course of action would be to sell the singles you want to keep and not open the boxes that you want to open. The fun thing to do is the opposite, but that fun of cracking packs and keeping high value (for now) singles comes at a financial cost. If it's worth it, have fun, but if you want to cash out of FaB singles, now looks like the time, while it's still popular.

Star Wars Unlimited was like this before the booster box shortage, Vaders were still 80-100 dollars and so many other cards had value, and you could get boxes at around $100 a piece. Now it makes no sense to open them as card prices haven't doubled but box prizes have more than.

Almost no bids on Ebay for Flesh and Blood. Not sure where Rudy is getting this flawed data. Perhaps LGS's are doing well since they have tournaments and regular play, but unless the card has play value, it most likely is not making any sales due to almost no collectors in this game. I already claimed losses on all my F&B purchases.

FAB hands down has the best looking cards on the market. The game is fun. Only issue is when a Hero achieves living legend status all the equipment and supporting cards go to zero.. making me hesitant to collect. Also, the biggest reason the game's growth was stunted, overprinting.

Syberia was one of the last great PC point and click adventure games of the 2000s... if not thee very last. IMO you should watch the movie The Best Offer (2013) starring Geoffrey Rush... don't read anything about it and go in blind... it is thriller about someone who is obsessed with automatons and collecting fine art and what eventually becomes of him... a truly underrated gem of a film IMO.
