all those tribal decks works so good. beast, goblins, wizards, elves, zombies, BIRDS (are my favorite), Slivers, the mistforms, squirrels, etc. Double Strike!! That freaking Mirari, Astral Sligh Decks, Madness and Wild Mongrel, seedborn muse, threshold ... there was even a Elf Merfolk as a Creature Type (one of the best creatures IMHO, B and a U for a 2/2 Flyer)

+dalton vogel Agreed, It's kinda disappointing how more and more Artists working for Wizards rely on purely CGI and make the Artwork look bland. Luckily we still have still some traditional Artists like McKinnon, Nielsen, Hildebrandt etc. Also grab your Odyssey Block and Invasion Block Booster and Starter Pack Boxes now while they're still cheap. Looks like Rudy also heard certain rumors about certain Odyssey and Invasion Block cards becoming for the first time modern legal via Modern Horizons. If that's not it, i guess Rudy has a natural Intuition on which Pre-Modern Set Booster Boxes will jump in Price very soon

I remember Odyssey all too well one of my favorite block constructed formats playing mono black control with visara and mutilate. In standard playing fires of yavimaya decks roaring the worms 👍 the atog upheaval nightmare decks that made you want to slap your opponent for playing it. Found it funny when Rudy said did anybody build an atog deck?!?! Rudy did you forget the upheaval atog fact or fiction flip the table deck that stormed this format? Not to mention the madness squirrel lists which I loved! This may have been one of the best blocks and standard formats in magic history.

This was the peak of when I played. 6th edition to onslaught from 7th grade to about junior year in high school playing type II and booster drafts. One of the most enjoyable times in my life before chronic pain and disability from a genetic disorder took me down shortly after graduating. I still have all my cards, binders, and foil collection everything kept safe and will never let them go. I miss how the cards look, and the foils look incredible. Chatter of the squirrel was a great card, my squirrel deck was a beast! The elephants were nice in drafts. One card that was valuable in type 2 that I just checked the price on and was disappointed was Call of the Herd. Love the nostalgia.

Is there no foil on the artwork, only on the border ?? Or doesn't it show on camera ? The foiling is epic but i really like that the foil in some artworks are so colorfull or that they make jewels shine more etc, they should have this border + the artwork!

Best part of the video Rudy-after looking at the Charmed Pendant. “Okay..what is this..um.....okay.” I paused it to see what the card does and my reaction was exactly the same. That is the most random card!!! I played during this era and do not recall ever seeing that card. Made me laugh. But yes the artwork and foiling in this set is remarkable!!

Rudy, the premium cards are one out of a hundred cards. So in a booster box with 540 cards you should get 5-6 foils....so a 10 foil pack was awesome! Great throwback vid!

I got a traumatize in that pack which back then was a major hit! the other big hits in the set were new frontiers, time stretch and shadow mage infiltrator foil shadow mage even back then was $90 (NZD)!

Damn... hitting me right in the nostalgia feels today. That was the last set I opened before I went off to college. Sold most of my old cards later to pay off my student loans. Sold most of the remaining valuable ones a couple years ago to pay for medical bills. Ah well, health's not great but it's well managed, so I may be in a hole these days but I'm stubborn enough I'm not gonna stay there. Doubt I'll ever rebuild my old collection though, hell sold them long enough ago half have probably made their way to Rudy.
