I find Rob to be legitimately one of the most unique and interest antagonists I've ever seen in any media. He's the kind of character that cannot exist in any other show, which is astounding. When I was watching this show while airing, I knew of him and I thought "When is this background character going to have an episode" and then he became the MAIN VILLAIN. That will forever hold a special place in my heart. The fact that I followed this character's journey and was almost a part of it.

Exactly! Rob is so fascinating, and I love how they did his development. He, undoubtedly, IS the antagonist, but he’s not a bad person. Rob is a kid, who ultimately goes down a path of insecurity and feeling lost after he’s mutilated beyond anyone’s control and thrown into a world that doesn’t remember or care about him. Really, his only option is to become evil. And yet, in these episodes, we see small moments that make him more humanized. He has mannerisms that make him unique and relatable, and when it comes down to it, Rob is genuinely kind-hearted. That’s a favorite part of this, honestly. Whenever Rob does good things, he still gets punished for it. There’s no reason for him to actually care because the universe will punish him for it regardless… But he still does anyways, because Rob is a kid in a town that he loves and he wants to save people, even if all he’s known as is the scary bad guy. I’m getting way too deep into cartoon characters, but it’s all very profound to me. Rob is one of those characters that you just won’t get anywhere else.

The way the creators develop their characters and creations is pretty insane and wonderful. Rob went from a minor background character to a villainous fan favorite and also becoming the first rivalry of Gumball, And Molly and Terry had more major roles and has more speaking lines and screen time than ever and the same goes to some of the each minor characters through the show. Ever since the void started to erupt, They made everyone kinda have a lot of more attention and personality in terms of this. Great video as always! Love the Character Developments in this show

It's incredible how they even make Gumball and Darwin more fleshed out in relationships: Gumball and Darwin aren't simply a "bros against the world and is it" thing: they stand to each other for real, but nor just because they are brothers but because they really care. Same with Anais, Nicole and Richard: they genuinely like themselves in a non-flat way, almost every episode when they appear, they developed theirs relationship, even those who seam not by focusing in other things, like "The Game" Tobias don't have a sister, though. Why you would think he have? I don't know, there's anything about fan fictions like that. Nevermind.

What I always loved about "The Rerun" was that dramatic scene of Gumball screaming at Rob after he temporarily has Darwin (along with Anais) killed. It made me wish there were more serious episodes in the series that are well written and maybe not stories like "The Hero" and "The Inquisition."

This is why rob in my opinion, is like the THANOS of the show but in a much controversial way, he reminds me of bill cypher from gravity falls when “( Reality is an illusion, and the universe is a hologram by gold )” this really makes me wonder if the next season will probably pick up after what happened when Rob fell into the Void or it’ll probably be different as a different time twist to be renewed

I love how rab feels like an actual character. it's honestly sad how some of the best and my favorites in the show have little screen time per episode. Rob, who was a poor soul who got trapped in the void, manipulated by Gumball to be his nemesis, was clueless and thought that he was gumballs nemesis. over time, he got more self aware of the danger that gumball puts in others. this leads to the disaster and rerun, wanting revenge for what Gumball has done to not only him, but others. he wanted to tear his life apart, and make it as miserable as possible. eventually knowing the fate that lies within the future, and wanting to make everyone live action so they don't get trapped in the static of the void for eternity. it's so sad that he only got like 4-5 episodes that he got to star in (I've never watched the actual show just clips, so I could be wrong), and just didn't feel important enough. another example is Penny Fitzgerald. she was a perfect match for gumball, and the two were like a magnet. Penny is a nice, passive young lady who is just trying to have fun and make Gumball's life as good as possible with her. while Gumball was a toxic, no good person who always gets into trouble, and usually is the cause for it. but opposites attract, just like magnetic force. also, Penny's shape shifting abilities were perfectly thought out. each form took on their own emotions. such as disgust, anger, embarrassment, insecurity, sadness and fear. her base form is well, herself. a happy her with a somewhat happy life. despite her appearance, she is shown to just be an everyday pre-teen in school. she's a cheerleader, she has a fitting attitude, and she over all fits perfectly in the show. it's so disappointing that she had only a semi-major role in season 5, and barely appears after that. I hope that if the Gumball movie ever gets a chance to be published, she could be one of the more...important characters. she felt important in someway, but the show didn't make her feel as important as she really was. name any other examples in the replies if you have any

The way the show interact with slight references to the real world while maintaining the laws of the TV, rob backstory was simply sad since the episode were he where supposed to be introduced (similar to molly) was never aired, thus whoever in charge of the show (be it the ceo or the creator of the show) was never told by the fans or even there children how much they had a favourite character, molly enter the void simply because she was too average for a character but was remembered simply because they had an episode , rob NEVER had an episode he only appeared in a scene only able to think they know about it which was set probably before, however one scene was enough for it to be engraved in our memory, rob was intended to be a main side character like tories but was probably had no room.
