Why cant the system just use the factory Bluetooth microphone, and GPS antenna if equipped?

1. Will i509-WRA-JL display a factory installed front (trail camera) as well as factory rear camera? How do you switch between the two? 2. After install, do you retain factory compass direction indicator in upper left dash display, next to digital speedometer display? 3. Do you retain Off-Road gauges/indicators like factory head-unit (tilt angle, incline, decline degrees, track bar status, axle locker status)? 4. Do you maintain faculty HD quality front and rear camera display (I saw a yellow video RCA connection to Alpine camera box)? 5. Do you retain Apple CarPlay and charge USB located inside center console storage area? 6. Does i509-WRA-JL have a digital output (coaxial or toslink) to connect to after market dsp? 7. Do you retain Jeep Wave features (with downloaded app to phone), like remote engine start, lock & unlock doors, horn, vehicle status, milage, fuel level, tire air pressure ....with use satellite connection with downloaded app on phone?

not so sure disconnecting the. battery terminal. actually disconnects batt power there is 2 batts. so. car is still hot, not sure how great it is to put. mic onto windshield, what happens when you put the windshield down?

Damn Alpine… That was such a messy install. Lastly, do you lose quality resolution in your backup camera from stock? I saw that output is a RCA.

I would volunteer my Jeep to Alpine for them to create a better unit based off of factory controls but i would have to guide your engineering department to help them make a good unit .

Yeah, OK. I'm actually putting one of these in this week (18 JL). If you have a power inverter, good luck plugging the oem harness into it once you manage to get it mounted on top of the brain. It will come up an inch short no matter what you do, so don't waste your time, just skip the extra bracket and relocate the inverter. If you have a factory amp, go ahead and order the KXC-F200INT because you'll need it for another $160 and most sites won't tell you that. I'm actually waiting for it to arrive to finish the install right now. There is a reason they made a video of the install in a Jeep with no added equipment. I'm hoping the unit operation makes up for the install headaches, but I doubt it will. I called Alpine support twice during install also and talked to two of the least helpful people I've encountered in quite some time. Seriously, after the second call I debated on spending another few hours taking the thing out and repackaging it to return. Maybe the moral of the story is to just have someone else put it in even if you're good at it because then you don't have to deal with Alpine and every little additional problem you'll run into.

Questions: is this compatible with the Alpine Dashcam? And do you have to replace the media connection? USB-C is faster charging than USB, so that feels like a downgrade to me. Thanks!

At almost $3k and we're stuck with an appalling 1980's eyesore glued to our windshield? And seriously is it too much to have ALL the usb ports actually function as they are supposed to? Seriously there are 4 microphones installed from the factory!!!! When on the trails my phone is plugged in to the usb port IN the center console so it's safe and out of the way. Next. How water resistant are all these modules rattling around loosey goosey behind the dash?

This is….. just an absolute disaster. For $2,400 this should be entirely bespoke for the vehicle. Other than the display surrounding plastic, this is the complete opposite of that. The stock head unit is significantly better designed, you took one piece out and put IN 27 different new pieces with adapters on adapters on adapters with far too long cabling, you LOST the USB-C port and replaced it with HDMI which no one is going to use, you had to run your own mic and GPS antenna instead of just using the factory built in ones, along with some stupid backup camera conversion box instead of just designing the whole lot to use the OEM factory stuff, that should just plug right in without needing a stupid amount of adapters. This should have been a simple case of unplugging the extremely well design SINGLE PIECE and plugging in your replace single piece with all factory hardware retained. That’s what you expect for $2,400! Alpine used to be the pinnacle of in car entertainment but this, THIS is a mess and extremely hacky!

@@benwhittle7204 Stinger Height 10 & Insane Audio for the JL is a mess !!!! Its a Joke. This alpine does have alot of connectons , but its well thought out and its flawless. The extra cash spent will save you the extra headache !!
