My amp cuts out when I cut the volume up past 13 on the head unit, can a bass knob prevent it from doing so?

I just bought a new Alpine amp do I have to have the remote control knob to run it properly or can I still use the amp without the knob? Just wondering because they cost $30 and my Alpine amp didn't come with one but it has the plug hole to put one on

No its an optional accessory, it will work with or without it

So I ended up getting the control knob ...and hooking it up ...and I feel like my amp lost power with it ..so I took it off and sent it back I don't need it..lol plus it was like $33.. and it almost feels like the control knob didn't do very much.

I heard on some Amps that a bass knob will wake the amp up some....Any truth in that?

Just put my rux.knob.2 in my car and my skar 12" bumps way harder with the knob maxed out

Yes, it is compatible with any amp with a bass control input, uses the same kind of connector as a telephone line.

What is the difference between the bass knob and gain?

Basically the gain will adjust the volume level, where as this is used to control the bass level. I use this for the subwoofer in my car, so I can turn the bass up or down when I want, while not affecting the actual volume of the audio. This is typically mounted somewhere in the driver compartment where it is easily accessible. Some car radios you can adjust this setting through the internal menus, but i prefer to have a dedicated knob I can just reach down to lower or turn up the bass.

No any amp with an input for a “remote” switch or knob will be able to use these. Take a look on the amp

Worst part about the bass knobs is that they don’t describe if it adjusts the bass in a alpine amplifier that does not run a subwoofer.. my question is... does it increase the general bass sub levels in a alpine r-a60f that runs only coaxial speakers? Will it increase bass level? I read manuals and such , but nothing that I can find states any kind of answer.

If your speakers are hooked up to the amp, the knob will control their bass.

it controls the volume of the amp, it has nothing to do with the frequency range... Connect a 5k potentiometer between pins 2 and 6. 5k=Full Volume, 0 Ohm =Minimum Volume.
