ALPS MOTORBIKE TRIP 2021 - Back to Lake Como - Italy - BMW R1250 GSA

In this video we continue the day I have dropped the bike in Austria by riding through the north shore of Lake Como towards Lugano, well not Lugano but close as I had some business I needed to take care of there and I needed to get the bike brakes checked. They were squeaking more and more and this was the main reason I aborted the stay in Ardez. I also wanted to replace the broken clutch lever.
This side of the lake is beautiful but there are far more tunnels and some of them are quite long, also your view is obscured a good portion of the way. In retrospect, if I was to do this again, I would have ridden down through Switzerland to Lake Lugano and then entered Italy.

this corner of Europe is full of tunnels, the alps are there and other mountains, it's normal to have tunnels otherwise choose Belgium, the Netherlands or Luxembourg for flat roads without tunnels but roads veeeeeryyyyyyy boring

Yes I understand and know to expect tunnels but I was just comparing this side of the lake to the other, the northern side has far more tunnels and the southern is more scenic. Had I known prior (my fault for not looking) I’d have taken the lake Lugano route which has less. Thanks for the comment.

Great video but the traffic and tunnels sure put a damper on the ride but every day can't be perfect. As a side note the music volume is to loud in comparison to the volume of your voice ,I watch with my thumb on the volume control ,maybe you can balance it out a little ! 👍👍👍🇨🇦🇨🇦

Thanks for the comment and feedback Vance. I will try to lower the music a bit o. future uploads. This microphone will distort if I add more gain I’m afraid. Yes not everyday can be perfect but knowing what I know now, I should have taken lake Lugano instead. Because it was such a long day riding I decided to do a pass and roads I already knew but on hindsight I should have taken the other pass. I was trying to avoid Switzerland and their strict speed controls and heavy fines.

Hi RC. I really love this video. I can't help wondering: the quality of this video is much better than early ones. Do you use different editing software? Or maybe a different camera? Or is filming in 4K so much better than just HD?

I’ve started using Final Cut Pro as a trial and for some reason the exports are 100x better when uploaded to KZbin. I guess I’ll have to shell the 300€ for the Steve Jobs Fund if I don’t find a better alternative.

@@RidingCorners I should have known, Apple!! I know that Itchy Boots (the very popular dutch girl traveling the world on het bike) uses Final Cut Pro to edit her video's. Fantastic quality in 4K!! I guess it's time for me to say goodbye to Windows and start using Apple. Thanks!

@@Luc_Motor4youNL yes I was using apple but premiere pro and for some reason despite millions of tries the footage comes out ok locally but when I upload it to KZbin whatever KZbin compression they apply it ruins it.
