although I am quite new to all the knife things, I can say that ceo flipper is quite different from all the knives I've seen so far, and very cheap compared to the beautiful and elegant look it has. I just got it today, and I can say that it is very hard to open the knife for those who isn't use to all the folding knives with the flippers (like myself). I practiced opening the knife about an hour and my fingertip is already hurting like hell. I mean I did learn that opening and closing the knife will wear out and make it easier eventually, but even if I know that in the corner of my head, it is still very sad, for me, that I can't really open this beautiful knife with one hand that easily. sorry if the way I wrote this was a little bit weird. I am Japanese native so may have made some mistakes while writing this in a hurry.

2 weeks since I got it, now it’s a really, REALLY nice knife to open and close now!!! At first, the flipper was super tough to open it with one hand (finger?) and had to open and close it several times a day to break in a little. Now, 2 weeks since I got it, now it is a lot easier to open and a lot more fun to use! I had to tighten back the screw at the base of the knife blade 3 times, which may have gotten loose from opening and closing the knife so many times each day. But after it became more smoother to open, I don’t see the screw loosening at all An easy way to open the knife, at least in my way, was pushing the nub(?) in the direction between the light switch and pushing the button.

Awesome review video! Ordered the black handle/black blade flipper version for $50 bucks. I just couldn't resist this beautiful Richard Rogers design. It's so simple and sleek and discreet with a very useful blade that completely disappears in to the handle. Even though mine is still a few days away, I already know this knife will go to work with me every day shirt pocket clipped right beside an Olight Baton 3. But it's still stylish enough to carry in more formal environments.

I don't know what it is about CRKT but I never find designs that I love. People get crazy in love with some CRKT models but I just haven't been able to get into them.

I just got my Ceo flipper and I love it. But Frankie, you are right. We wusses need to strengthen our finger to be able to flip it 😆 It's a little hard for me but I've never had this style of knife before. So I'm playing with it to strengthen my wussy finger and break in the knife as well. I got the knife because of you guys. Thanks so much.

Blade Hq just dropped the fancy upgraded version of the CEO in S35VN with blue micarta scales. Very tempting but quite a bit more expensive.

I got one of these, the problem with the flipping is that you need to hold it close to the pivot. Scales/liners are too flimsy, when you have pressure in the middle on the lock bar side it just wont open. Also makes it easier to open left handed as the pressure from from your fingers is on the non lock bar side.

Brilliant design. I stopped buying budget blades a few years back except for small knives like the Spyderco DF2, mini Kizer Begleiter etc. I have too many higher end knives that just collect dust. I’ll handle budget in store sometimes if it looks good. CRKT can make some junk. But, the quality on the CEO and Crossbones is great. Good review and awesome little knife.

My CEO Flipper is extremely stiff and will only open via the push-button flip. This thing will pull your nail off if you try the "light switch". Is that reason for anything less than a 5-star rating? Hell NO! I prefer the thumb-stud version but still enjoy the Flipper. I just ordered the newly released blue linen micarta thumb-stud version with S35VN from Blade HQ. SWEET!!

I just got my CEO flipper on Saturday and it was noticeably stiff at first, but I like it so much more than the original that I sent the OG back to Amazon today, which was the last day to get a full refund. Haha. And yes, the clip is way better.

Mine was impossible to flip when i first got it. I tried breaking it it over the first few days but it didn’t do anything. I had to take it apart and bend the lockbar now its better.

Was strongly considering the flipper just because it’s tip up. Still like the original good enough. Saw the s35vn blue micarta one today but $135 is way too much in my opinion.

They definitely have some QC issues. The first one I got was super stiff, the replacement was easily half the effort. Same issue with the original CEO I got...the thumbstud was actually a dud (it was not raised in the least) on top of the bearings being bone dry and having a mega stiff detent

I like the lip on this one but I love the original CEO. It rides very well in my shirt pocket. No one at my office notices it. The action is so sweet that when my thumb tou hes the stud and I think "OPEN", it deploys. I do not plan on getting the flipper.

I have very strong hands, swing hammers all day. Bought this for Father’s Day. The knife I got is ridiculously stiff. Left handed is easy, right handed is difficult. The frame of the knife is so flimsy that the pressure from my middle finger on the frame pinches the blade and makes it stick. Cool design, terribly flimsy materials.

I got mine the other week and its way too stiff. I was told to send in through the warrabty program, which I reluctant to do as the repair depot is in the states and I'm in Canada. Flippers are technically illegal here so I'm sure it'll make it there fine but it will probably get confiscated by boarder services on the way back. How Canadian stores can sell it with that situation I don't know.

i breast pocket of shirt or inner jacket pocket carry the CEO whenever i'm dressed thusly, which is quite often. i typically wear button up shirts, so at least have at least one breast pocket. esp. when seated, i find breast pocket carry much more accessible than pants pockets.

BladeHQ's info is incorrect, the Flipper blade steel is AUS 8. Also, as others have mentioned, the original CEO is for shirt pocket carry. When deploying from a shirt pocket, the tip down orientation and pocket clip design make sense. The long pocket clip isn't a mistake, it is designed to be gripped by your finger. Your grip will be more stable on that slim of a knife and your thumb will be in the right position to flick that thumb stud.
