Working out is the reason I don't go to the salon. I work out 5-6 times a week and it does kill my hair. I am growing out my relaxer so I wash every 3-4 days and deep condition once a week. After I wash I wrap my hair and allow it to dry. The next day I hot comb my hair if I'm wearing it down or I pull it up into a pony tail. Working out is hard on hair, but the end results really make it worth it. I will go to a salon for a special event but otherwise I get creative with what I have.

I have short hair as well and I run 3-4 times a week. BTW I'm relaxed and not natural. I co-wash a few times a week. If I don't wash I lay my edges and side of my hair down with a scarf and pin curl the top. After my sweaty session I blow dry on cool the wet areas of my hair. Then pull out my pin curls and go. It's a process, but a necessary one.

This video was SOO necessary. I love the options you gave us in rocking big accessories or a cute bun and instead making that the focal point. Its all about being creative and owning whatever it is that you got going on! If your insides are healthy then that will shine through and overpower everything else! Take control! LOVE IT! #BOOM

AJ, classmate you better say that! Healthy hair comes from what you put in your body! Styling is a separate issue. Duh, change your hair style! No EXCUSES! Boom! I rock my natural texture and my hair when heat is applied is longer than AJ's style here! My health is reflected in my hair but it does not have to be down and flowing! I know my hair is long and that does not define me! Messy bun is my everyday style! #zonerforlife

I will try the bandana thang! My hair is not naturally long so i tend to stay away from any type of scarf, but maybe a bandana with a long tail? idk, just thinking out loud.

frances colon Everyone can’t use the same products due to hair texture. You must find what your hair likes.

She means adding earrings to compliment your hairstyle AFTER you workout and sweat. Yea i agree earrings at the gym is not the best idea

Not if it makes you feel more confident, and better going about your day, and its what you think makes you look best. Everything is not for everybody, and that's coming from a natural girl who has not used relaxer for almost a decade

Very informative video, however I would've liked to hear more about maintaining short precision cut hair. I have nothing against extensions, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE my short hair!!! Unfortunately, between the southern humidity & my hair sweating easily, my roots curl instantly. I usually wear the 'molded' look, but I think the purpose of having short hair is so you can rock those funky styles. Everyone can't don a hat or bandana during the work week and not everyone enjoys wearing weaves or wigs.
