This would’ve been a hit if it was under 4 minutes and had a proper promo vid. Southpaw is my favorite Morrissey album, but it goes totally unrecognized IMHO due to poor promotion and tracks that were made unnecessarily too long for no real artistic reason or purpose other than presenting a bunch of uninteresting guitar noodling. The smooth crooner voice over a bed of heavy guitars could’ve been a real winning combination at the time if it was properly marketed... if and only if certain tracks were cut to appropriate lengths.

Which is yet another reason Boz should have never been allowed to become 'musical director' and should have kept to being an (excellent) songwriter and musician. An MD is a very different job to that of band musician and some outstanding composers and musicians never make it as MD's whilst in some average players it can bring out the vision and control they have but cannot express in their artistic or technical capacity to the same extent.
