It's okay, many Germans can't understand Bavarians either. Even when they speak standard Hochdeutsch they can have an accent, strength of the accent depending on how much/little they use it in their life, and when they speak full Boarisch, a Northern German can more easily understand Dutch or even sometimes Swedish.

I love how your videos are laid out. You talk in fluent German and don’t dumb down what you are trying to convey across to us. I pick up a lot of things this way, and it’s refreshing to hear full-paced German now and then instead of always listening to the slowed-down German audio that textbooks use. Keep it up!!! :)

You are so right! This is the ideal formula. I wish more language instructors would use this model. I have been trying to learn European Portuguese and it is very hard to find enough resources like this, so I've switched to using this Easy German material to refresh my long-forgotten German skills to rebuild my confidence in language learning. It is such a blessing to have Cari and team on the job!

@@jaw147 hola. I read the whole English Spanish dictionary. English music videos with Portuguese subtitles came extremely easy to me. Like second nature. Have you dealt with Spanish. I also read in French y can get thru Italian. I took college English y Latin years ago. Decide what languages you really want to learn y don't back down. You will eventually see similarities in all. I respect countries in Europe y others that are bright enough to introduce the flavor of linguistics upon their shores. I was born in the states but frown on it's cold uneducated society. Extremely racist y they no prize. Shalom.

Once you use Füllwörter fluently without much thinking, you’ve reached a nice level of German. I want to get there! And this kinda stuff is never explained, mostly you learn them through repeated experience and imitation of native speakers, so this video was pretty cool to watch. Thank you, cari. A dear friend of mine told me Germans don’t want to give their opinion without having a fair amount of certainty in the facts so I can see how that translates to language pretty well lol.

I have struggled with these for years now, and I find your German/English examples here to be extremely helpful! They are second to none...as always Using "quasi" and "sozusagen" together really drives home that synonymous relationship with native English speakers...now if I can conquer "also/so", then there might be hope for me yet!

@fremejoker
@fremejoker 6 жыл бұрын
*Vielen Dank für eure Videos! Ich sehe sie alle und finde sie sehr hilfreich. Ich lerne seit sechs Monaten Deutsch und ich merke, dass ich viel von "Easy German" gelernt habe. - "Ich sehe alles und sind sehr hilfreich." "Ich sehe alles" is like "I see everything". "sind" needs a first person plural pronoun or plural noun. I rephrased it so it translates to "I see everyone of them (them = videos) and find them helpful." - "Ich lerne Deutsch seit sechs Monaten und ich fühle wie viel habe ich von "Easy German" gelernt." I put the time phrase infront of 'Deutsch', because you want to emphasize on the time, not the fact that you are learning German, don't you? ;-) 'wie' is a subordinating conjunction which means that the conjugated verb belongs at the end of the subordinate clause. However I replaced it with 'dass' (also a subordinating conjunction) because a subordinate clause with 'wie' doesn't fit after the statement that you have learned German for six month. Anyway, for six month of learning German this was easy to understand, the mistakes were only minor ones. Good job so far.

Very interesting thought process. In every language there are dozens of words which have neither necessity nor direct meaning in a sentence. Yet, they sometimes convey a specific and understood feeling, fact, or mutation of words in context. "Do you agree with me?" "Yeah, Kinda." "Do you agree with me?" "Yeah, like, you've got a point." "Do you agree with me?" "Yeah, nah."

Genial. If still learning the language, I agree with not overusing 'füllwórter' for the risk of using in the wrong context. IN addition, it is not only a context issue, but also a syntax issue. To use the filler in the right position in the sentence is important. So, ok by using filler as seldom as possible.

Vielen Dank für das Video. Das ist sehr nützlich. Ich hab diese Partikeln so oft von den Deutschen gehört, aber weiß niemals, das ist “Füllwörter” genannt. Es ist schwierig für Nicht-Muttersprachler, ein bestimmtes Füllwort für richtigen Kontext auszuwählen und zu benutzen. Man braucht oft zu üben. Grüße von Thailand!
