actually the vømmølfestival started because in 1995, Verdal womans football team qualified for the first division.

Its basically a musicfestival with a cultural significance ,- country/folk/rock music with norwegian lyrics in the accent from the location,-in this case it`s the Verdal dialect,a form of tronder accent. its 3 or 4 days of different activities,- Quizzes,bingo and lots of music and beer.....

Its basically a hill billy circus yes,but every year its quite memorable since i live there and it happens in a small town and gathers people from all over the country and some foreign countries...
