Nice video. I hope it pulls more people in astronomy - where the truth is! 👍 Great Solar wedge, I used it with my AR152 988 and it is great... I am so sporadically doing astronomy that I am uploading some videos from a Solar session with Altair Solar 2" Wedge and DIY solar scope done in July 2022. As I always say, life gets in the middle of our hobby all the time. Looking forward to play with it more thus year...

I’ve been using a 2-inch Lunt Herschel wedge since 2012. And I would agree you get a much better image then with an Solar aperture filter, even Baader film. I got my Lunt Herschel wedge just in time to use it in viewing the transit of Venus that June.

Hey, thanks for this review , I was stuck between buying this or the Meade, but decided to go with this one, and your video gives a good idea what to expect, also there is a new sunspots coming into view in the next few days. thanks Again.

I'm glad it was helpful! I've been watching closely for those sunspots to rotate into view, I'm really looking forward to seeing them with the Herschel wedge.

@@LepusNewMexicoAstronomy Hope we get some good sunspots during this solar cycle.. would love if the activity on the sun was like back in October 2003, with massive sunspots all over the disk.

So now that it has been a few months, how are you liking the solar wedge? I was looking to buy one for my 152mm refractor. and your review was so good! I want to hear your thoughts on it now that you have had it for a while!

I've used it for a handful of observing sessions and twice for imaging thus far. Can't say I have any real complaints about it. I do believe it out-performs solar film as I have been able to see more detail with better clarity and sharpness than compared to film. I'm really looking forward to using it more often once the sun becomes more active, but as of right now I'd say it's a real solid buy. Thanks for watching!

Thank you for sharing your Herschel Wedge unboxing. Did you feel that observing with the wedge was safe for your eyes? Any strain or negative green or red spot in eye after using it? Liked and subscribed!

No ill effects noted after using it for several observing sessions, completely safe!
