As a casual who tops out at p1500 usually for a season, I was surprised to be speed farming GR90s sub 3mins after ~9hrs playtime on DH. This season has been so much fun so far! Kinda wish I would have saved my cache, but really I’m just gonna farm like normal anyways and work on the Staff till tomorrow! @@WayWeeWoo 5 hours might seem like alot considering how mind numbing it is, but since you only need it for one of the last nodes you can do it over a week or so. Alot of people have forgot, partially with the accelerated progression rates, that we're only past the first weekend :)

Yeah, I am waiting on the puzzle drop atm, I have seen a few people talk about the set dungeon pages specifically that you need to leave a return with the set to get the pages, this is actually incorrect. You can bring all 4 sets in your inventory and just swap them and interact and get all pages in a single run. And I would say for staff of herding, add the spots to your bounty run rotation just to passively farm them while working on other stuff and by the time you get to the end you should be looking pretty good.

I feel your pain. I gave in after 4 hours and crafted it from a normal one. Spent lots of resources on nothing basically, but it was the only thing keeping me from completing the altar. RNG gods hate me (us) :)

The Alter Node for Double Deaths Breaths does stack with the Sage set on your Follower. You get up to 16 DBs per pack on T16. Normally you would only get 4 with no buffs, giving you 4 x times the normal amount :)

Hi Wudi, thanks for all the guides you made leading up to and now during s28.. all very helpful and appreciated. You actually tipped my decision to rather save the cache and I am glad I did - even as a casual family man with little time to play, being efficient helped and I am already at the ancient hellfire ammy step - crafted just 12 so far but no luck. Luckiest moment so far : fresh 70, did my first full bounty run in a group at only EXPERT difficulty, and actually got one legendary from the 5 caches - and it was RORG lol. Another thing you helped me with was resisting the altar nodes that 'look' good at first glance but can easily be skipped and are actually unnecessary QOL.. this has helped me to just get damage and tankiness upgrades rather and I am happy with my path so far. Oh and congrats on that sic Yangs man!

I was dreading the staff of herding mats and I got INSANELY lucky. First Leorics manor had logs, 3rd cathedral had mushroom, I got mysterious chest in my first cave after 5 resets to find the cave and my 3rd Chiltara dropped Gibbering. Feel like I used up all my luck there because it took 60 hellfire amulets to get an ancient lol

I also got stupid lucky with Chiltara, second kill droped me the gemstone. Actually it took me longer to get the Caverns of Frost. Mushroom took me the longest, in overall I made my staff in slightly over 1 hour with a GoD DH so I can't complain. Hellfire only took 10 crafts, I did use up my challenge rift cache since I'm playing ssfhc and wanted a better leveling experience. Gonna max out my altar on tuesday 'EU', have pretty much everything else ready for it.

I was casual playing S28 today and I got 2 WhimsyShire Goblins and 1 Treasure Vault Goblin. So far this has been a very nice season, and I am hardly even trying. I get the feeling some of the drop rates of been "enhanced" slightly since this is the last season before D4 drops....

Paragon 800, 2 max level characters both fully geared(no augments) with two sets each. Played probably 20 hours or so, no whimsy or vault goblins. :/ I think the drop rates are normal. You just ran hot. Congratz! :) I had a crazy slow leveling as well with 0 useful legendary drops from 1-70. Strange actually...the alter is sick though. Really hoping they make it permanent. Not that I will play it since D4, but for those who cant get d4 it is a great feature.

Damn was I wrong about Challenge Rift craft, hear to tell you spot on recommendation of saving it especially EU players! I got Staff of Herding done 24 hours before next challenge rift cache is available 😅

Double Primals does not currently work with drops from bounty caches (I have gotten 3 primals to drop from bounty caches so far and they do not double like other drops). It took me about 20 hours to complete the alter and seasonal unlocks.

Pretty sure there is a bug with the extra orb (most likely related to pet builds)...On my Inna Monk (and potentially other pet builds) I almost never get it (pet kill = no orb). I analyzed a couple of recordings frame by frame on both blue and yellow packs. No additional orb. On my DH I get it 100%. Edit: If I had to guess...it's related to the change from PTR, that they made so there don't drop more Orbs in groups.

I was so lucky with the staff of herding. - Bone: First try - Stone: First try (rarest - and I didn't even notice first that I killed Chiltara because my GoD DH killed her before I saw her) - Recipe: 8. try - Mushroom: 3. try - Rainbowwater: Took me like 15 tries The biggest issue was the queue time when logging in. I'm stuck at the CR cache rn but have everything else beside the ancient puzzle ring (and I also need more primal mats).

Farmed my Staff of Herding in about 3 hours. I got the gemstone in about 10 Chiltara kills, and the liquid in about 5 mysterious cave bounties. I had to wait till today anyway for the challenge rift to reset anyway as I opened my first since I didn't plan on pushing the Altar that fast anyway. The mats were helpful on first levelup.

*Minor quibbles for the Altar;* You now can't see what the level of a item is, which can be annoying for recipes, if you don't have the entire blacksmiths recipe guide memorised (casuals amirite?). And in my case I picked up a set piece of Tal Rasha at I think LVL 68 or 69, but it might be 70? … I can't tell. I'll have to compare stats when I've got the full set. But that won't really matter mid game +. As well the auto pick up salvage means that you can't keep Yellow rings and amulets that drop, to use for Recipe 3 upgrade rare item. Instead you have to craft them _which cost jewels!_ or use Kadala to create a bunch of Yellows … which cost more Blood Shards. And since amulets and rings cost so much at Kadala, Recipe 3 is often a good option to spend spare DB's at. On my journey I started saving my yellow rings and amulets for when I couldn't pick them up anymore, but it's a finite resource that doesn't get replenished once I've unlocked that node (which I did early to help speed farm QOL). Fortunately one of the saved yellow amulets gave me a Flavour of Time early on, which just wouldn't drop. But with the higher amount of Blood Shards I'll be farming, I suppose that's fair compensation. First World problems…

Agreed. The "lvl 1" thing messed with me early on when trying to equip my follower but it passed. As for the yellow rings/amulets - could you turn off your pet to disable auto salvage when you want to pick up a few for upgrading? I haven't tried it yet.

Yeh, thanks for the dismiss pet idea. I've been playing later on in the evening when _my brain is running on standby._ And anyway, with the amount of Blood Shards coming in, rolling a few times at Kadala just to get the Yellow material would be okay.

Saved the cache, it was the right decision, needed it the first night I played. Herding took me about 2 hours solo to farm as well. Though I found the shin bone when I was doing an act I bounty leveling, so that piece wasn't required when I got to node 25. Only have a couple more Primals to find and I'm done with the Altar.

A little add. To unlock the dble primal drop, you need to click on the power in the altar... I though it was automatic when we unlock the last node but no, we need to do like the other node but with a "free sacrifice" to activate... Maybe I'm dumb but I've seen the thing when I dropped my first primal after finishing the altar. I saw only one primal on the ground and began to cry but... >

Double DB node is actually one of the most useful ones for console players who have access to unlimited white/blue/yellow crafting materials. They can buy white items from the shop, drop them, talk to merchant again, rinse and repeat. I believe this doesn't work on PC.

I mean 10% to 20% isn't exactly the biggest jump, I made this mistake myself. I was thinking double meant I would see a full page sometimes but yeah, its only a 20% chance with the seal

14 re-rolls of puzzle ring, plus 40! gambled with Kadala using a level 31WD, and not one single Ancient. I have found 5 junk primals and though I hate to do it, it's time to use recipe 11 on a puzzle ring...what a waste! Other than that, the game rocks. TY for the video wudijo!

Got my gibbering as a fresh 70 doing my first bounty line. Alter done not even 24 hours after start. Already blasting 110 speeds in 2 min with para 1000. This season is ridicolous, but fun.

I think for Typhon Hydra Wizard pet kills either that makes the extra progress orb just spawn on you at ~0/they just give it to you, or you don't get it at all.

I'm curious to know what happens if you have your Pets auto-salvaging whites, and also equip a Puzzle Ring (not that anyone should ever equip a Puzzle Ring as part of a serious build!) Is it then just a race between the Puzzle Ring goblin and your Pet, to see who will get to the white item first? Thanks for all the great content!

My biggest issue with the season so far is the DH GoD set is "to fast" when you get it all ramped up. It rubber bands like crazy. I end up only doing 10 stacks of hungering arrow just to avoid the "lag". Or whatever is causing the bouncing around on screen. Good thing I don't pay HC cause it has gotten me killed in game more often than not.

does the altar takes the primal ancient puzzle rings for the pc only because it doesn't work on consoles like the ps4. I've unlocked everything from the get go within a few days up to the point of getting the ancient puzzle ring. A month of grinding and nothing to show for it.

Small tip to everyone out there, if u have alot of materials and Bounty Mats lying around (save 50 u need it for the altar) craft the items at the forge for the primals. From my about 200 crafts so far ive had 3 primal ancients and its not costed my almost any time since i was making stuff for altar or to gear up anyway. I think Bounties might definately be the superior way to find Primals esp if u dont enjoy doing GR 90s 50-60 x per hour. 200 crafts is about 60 minutes of public bounty runs.

@@Kuckii. You can craft any set/legendary lvl 70 item (They cost normal salvage materials + 1 bounty mat of 2 types). What i crafted was the Guardian set as i needed it for my character anyway but u can craft Captain Crimson, Aughild etc aswell (make sure its the lvl 70 version not the 60 versions).

@@Vertigo2688 As i said "at the forge" , your able to get primals from crafting any of the sets/legendarys at lvl 70. My average is 1 per 100 crafts give or take and ive not gotten 4 Primals this way this season. So for example ive had 1 captain crimson Primal, 1 Hellfire amulet primal , 1 Guardian belt primal and 1 random dagger that used the other bounty material i had spare off. Some crafts were around 20 before primal and the max i had to make 140 for a primal. Id say 100 crafts on average should net a primal but theres ofc no guarantees in RNG.

I would really appreciate something from you guys on the whisper of atonement rank 125. Raxx's video about "how easy it was" blah blah blah was all well and good, but perhaps some actual parameters? Like "if you are doing 100 comfortably you should be fine", "if you are speed farming gr90 in sub 2 minutes you should be fine", "if you can do GR110 even if you take it slow you should be fine". I've avoided those things since they came out and ending it by dying to a meteor isn't exactly an option in HC. Talking about how easy they are really requires some sort of qualifier to help us know if it would be that easy. I mean, speed farming GR90 is impossible until it is easy so there are some definite prerequisites invovled.

I actually managed to drop all parts of the staff of herding within 50 min going solo. its super lucky i know. but i farmed it in season 25 (also solo) and it took me 14 hours so.... thats some justice

You know It's hard to say what I think about the season so far. With the altar I have been able to push to GR 110 and I usually stop at GR70 because the grind for gear is just too much for me. It has also highlighted to me all the things I really have been doing *wrong* in Diablo 3 all these years. At the moment I only need the last potion power unlock and I will have unlocked the entire Altar of Rites done. I guess the funny part of it is I usually get around 2 week into the season before I squirrel off to something else but with less than a week in I have done more than I have ever done in any season. As far as how I feel about the Altar as a mechanic? I have been enjoying it so much for the Quality of Life things that were added like Pets Picking up and scrapping items and picking up Death's Breaths. So I hope they consider bringing the Altar into the Core of the game and using it as a vessel for future seasons.

What are the rules of making a primal by cube recipe ? It reforges item from scratch and make it primal with new affixes or it just maxing out affixes that are arleady on an item ? I'm asking cuz i have multishot bow but with HP per hit (which i don't want) and i don't know if i should find another one with affixes that i want or should i just put in to the cube and pray for primal with affixes that fits me ?

Is node 'W' on the altar really '+50% damage to bosses'? On Blizzard's website it still says +25% so I was wondering if it was a in-game typo or if they really doubled it? Also I saved my Cache and got really lucky drops and was surprised how fast I blew through the altar. Like I haven't had a single Primal drop since my GR 70 and my total Gem-up levels are an 82, a 50, and a 32.

OK so I noticed on my wiz the father potion adds various shrine effects stacking 1/2/3/4 etc as I use my potion... but there seems to be a bug when I reset the potion on my necromancer using the curse effect often times it will just refresh a single shrine effect over and over taking many potion uses to gain all of the shine effects. Not sure if anyone else has noticed 🤔

This season feels like a goodbey season for me, i played a lot in past, i did come back this season and the altar was a very enjoyable add to the game.As d4 aproces a lot of casuals like me owe to this game a lot of fun so i hope the best for d4 and tyvm to all content creators like you who made the experience of casuals like me a lot more enjoyable😄

Id say you will be back for another season sooner rather than later. D4 may not be a replacement, but rather a different way of playing the genre. Personally not sure if I like the way they try to go in D4, or if I am stuck with d3 or maybe one of the lesser competitors for a while. The endgame beta was seriously bad sadly.

I've completed the the season journey and reached top 50 with wizard and DH but now I can't get the gem from chiltara. Spent several hours yesterday trying to get it and I don't feel like spending at least another day doing the same task over and over again. For my own sanity I've decided to give up on unlocking all the nodes. I really hope D4 won't have season features locked behind mindless grind.

It's not a %, just add a flat 200. Good for early game but isn't relevant later.

one handers roll up to like 3k damage. So +200 for a 1h build would be 6.6% more damage. 2H roll up to I think 4300 so that would be 4.6% more damage.

I got the staff of herding plan while doing the season journey... Guardian... kill one boss at lvl 70 on T13 I believe. When I killed him the staff of herding plan dropped.

What if Kadala gives you double primals, but in your inventory only has space for one item? Does the second one drop on the floor?

That's generally how spawned items have worked for me. Such as having a full inventory and receiving bounty caches, they just drop to the floor.

well i am stuck ion the very last step, everything unlocked except i need 3 primals now to unlock last power and the double primal bonus, (p1200 farming speed 110s solo) i've played around 30 hours since the season started and only dropped 3 until now, including the first one at GR70, iseems luck is not on my side on this one :D

I spent 5 hours in chiltara grind and got nothinh tbh it really killed all my inetesest in this season and really saddens me as I was so hyped for this and enjoyed it really well up until this point. P.S my friend made 2 staffs in like 30 minutes

Did you get the recipe first? I'm sure some one will say it doesn't matter but I ran like 30+ kills and got nada Thought to myself maybe it needs the recipe... switched to Izual runs...5 attempts got the recipe (on a bounty). Reloaded 2-3 times (icefall) Got the KiII Chiltara Bounty and then the gibbering gemstone dropped, went to the Cathedral in the same game and found the Mushrooms on the first try. Bought the bell and made the staff. Console so don't need the other two things.

Cain's Destiny, Broken Crown if you need gems (e.g. for Caldesann's) otherwise Leoric's Crown with diamond for CDR, Gloves of Worship. With these you cannot equip Sage's anyway.

I feel like my character might be broken with regards to Chiltara. I killed her 87 times today and nothing. Similar to yesterday for about 160 kills total. I resorted to keeping track of kills just to make sure I wasn't going crazy. If it is a 6% chance I have a 1 in 20,000 chance of this happening. I will probably just do 20 kills a day, but I have given up farming her at this point.

In case you haven’t found the gibbering gemstone yet, try doing it in Campaign - Machines of War. Whenever you get the Caverns of Frost, Chiltara will spawn there 100% of the time. You will need to play through Campaign up until Gears of War if you haven’t opened it up yet with your character. I got the gemstone after 6 tries.

It took me over 100 Chiltara kills for the gem to drop. With softcore queues I ended up spending over 10 hours farming her.

What do you mean "softcore queue?" Are you having to wait for a server when making a new game? I've only been playing HC so far this season

The *first node* Killstreak bonus didn't work at the beginning, starting new games didn't change anything. It was only after I had logged out and started again that it worked, and that was in my second session by when I had already reached lvl 70. I didn't realise at the time, I just assumed I wasn't reading the bonus right and couldn't hold Killstreaks cause I was rusty as I hadn't played for about 3 months. So my early rush to 70 took a lot longer than expected …
