The buckeyes are conkers, as a brit we used to make holes in them and put them on string and smash them together, and whoever’s breaks first loses LOL

Your altar is absolutely beautiful 🥺🥺 I think it's wonderful how you have British ancestors! Those buckeyes are known as conkers over here, there are loads of trees near my work that drop them, gotta mind that spiky shell. I will be collecting some soon 😁 also years ago people would thread a string through them and have conker fights. The £1 coin you have is the old version of the pound or 'quid' as us Brits call it.
