Altea Hills to Downtown Altea and Calpe : Great place to retire!

Are you thinking of retiring to Spain? Don't choose a place until you have seen the Costa Blanca on the Eastern coast of Spain and specifically Altea which is just north of Benidorm. None! Altea itself is an amazingly safe place. Altea Hills has 24 hour security because some of the houses are multimillion dollar (Euro) properties

That is the one downside of the developement there is no bus inside the private community but there are cabs

No, but taxis are relatively inexpensive.

Interesting video, but the background noise, traffic etc, really made it difficult to hear what you are saying; You need to use a personal microphone to increase you voice level, and try and reduce the irritating background noise. I know this area very well, and would like to visit it again this year. Keep up the good work with your videos. I think the best time to visit is in the autumn (fall), especially September to October.

Thanks for your comment Calpe is 5 minutes from Altea hills and it is a massive sand beach as far as the eye can see! Altea downtown does have a sandy beach but it is small and you are right mostly rocks. The next town over Albir is also sand. Come see for yourself 😄😎 Altea and Calpe are equidistant from Altea hills.

Villa owner in Altea Hills. The two sandy beaches in Calpe are equal distance from Altea Hills to the town and seafront of Altea. Since the video was shot, the front of Altea has had extensive work undertaken. Altea, is much nicer place than Calpe to live, although we do spend a lot of our leisure time at Calpe.

The beach in Altea is pebbles. However, there are two long sandy beaches in Clape, one either side of the Ifach rock.

Approximately 800 € per year. Includes security, road cleaning, communal garden maintenance etc.

Altea Hills poor developement, not walking, no public transport. Scarry to drive every day . Not surpise why so many beautiful properties are low prices.

I think that you must have been wearing sunglasses when you looked at the properties. The average price of a Villa is around 800,000€. There are many well into the millions. Of course, you can find apartments cheaper. Altea Hills is one of the most prestigious urbanisations on the Costa Blanca. People who have properties on Altea Hills have cars for transport. Or can take a taxi if they are going out to dine and a few drinks.
