SERIOUSLY. myles with that Dean explorer! tremontis live tone was SOOO much more mean back then. whew! i wish they'd go to a new producer to go back to their old sound and vibes

The tonality and strength of his voice was much better back then, but his technique has significantly improved since then. He's one of those singers who is constantly improving but you don't necessarily recognize it until you see certain examples. His progress also kinda gets hidden by the fact that his voice has aged so drastically. I personally think that the 2010-2011 years were some of his most impressive in the sense of having immaculate technique while still having a lot of that strength and youth that he had to his voice.

He's a true professional, like an athlete, he knows he can't keep his absolute beauty of vocals and ability, so he adjusts. He's one of my favs, not just singing ability but also character, seems like a straight up dude....also shout to Tremonti, one of the most underrated guitarist
@justjuicyMK8 ай бұрын
Myles had learned and practice the technique to keep his voice from burning out too soon! He has to be careful with how much he sings. Remember this was one of Axl's complaints during GNR early days. He injured his vocals.

@connormatthews522 Жыл бұрын
yeah for real, it's like they were still young, super hungry and giving it every ounce of energy they had, absolutely loving every second of it. Not that they aren't amazing today, but their vibe is totally different now
@LucasSeman8 жыл бұрын
the thing is, Myles improved his technique, but back in these days his voice was fuller. it had less of that "chipmunky" thing he does with Slash (and now, with AB too). Oh, and I´m a huge Myles fan.
@wtfhappened19658 жыл бұрын
that was exactly why I didnt want him to do the Slash thing....I believe hes rocking it now though! lol
@Andyc185 жыл бұрын
I agree. I still love his voice now and he has incredible range. I think back then his voice was fuller as he had a different singing technique but it probably wore his voice out a lot quicker. Makes sense as to why he tends to use head voice a lot more nowadays. Less taxing on his vocals.
@tomsaint7863 жыл бұрын
He does a lot more yarling now to preserve his voice. As he wouldn’t be able to maintain singing like he does here
@glorioskiola3 жыл бұрын
I’m sure his vocal coaches are helping him to preserve his voice. He’d never be able to keep this up.

Man, love the energy from that days! I‘m a fan since the beginning and saw my first gig of AB 2004 in Hamburg in a small club named Logo. I‘m still loving them and they truely deserve to play the big arenas. But Myles lost a bit of that pure energy from the early days... unfortunately.

I prefer today's Alter Bridge in their live performance. More mature, more polished and far more professional. It's all about the music and not the stage antics. It looks fake on them. But it's amazing to see the evolution of the eventual studio versions. This is amazing !

yeah, he had a fuller voice back then (lot younger and less worn out, off course), and definitely could sing, but anyone who prefers this over the amsterdam performance, for example, does not know anything about music his timbre now is a major improvement and his pitch control also is a lot better right now...
@GordoDustin2 жыл бұрын
Doesn’t know anything about music? That’s an immature opinion. It depends on what you value in your vocalist. Today, he hits the high notes easier because of technical changes but in their earlier work he had far more versatility. There are no Burn it Down type songs in their last 3 albums. Vocally, I think the first half of their career is far better quality. Just depends what you’re into.
@suejoyce94259 ай бұрын
I was at this Astoria gig, I know plenty about music thanks. I prefer this to the Amsterdam gig. Originally the Astoria gig was to be the ' live ' recording but the sound wasn't as good as they were hoping and so they made the Amsterdam one live. They were so good then and appreciated us for supporting them, as we had done for a couple of years, at this time good old USA hadn't really caught on to AB had they. They have changed recently to cater for the home market, hence not as hard 'n ' heavy as they used to be. I much prefer early AB.

+Jukkax26 he said in an interview that when he met his wife (before 2003) he was fragile and having some struggles. Dont think so. He has said many times that hes uncomfortable without a guitar in hand. It seems this has manifested in an interesting way where he leaned more into the frontman persona.
@thyop892 жыл бұрын
He wasn't. He stopped partying before Alter Bridge. He's just young and full of anger and energy. It's not really sustainable as you age but it's what makes young up bands so exciting. The explosive, fresh out of the gate energy.
