This is a masterpiece of a song! Shows Alter Bridge's strength

Such a good band! No filler in any album. Everything they do is at a high level. Always evolving and laying down killer tracks! Great vocals, guitar work, riffs, solos, and melodies. Classic rock; riff rock, shreddy metal, progressive metal - all influences in what they do. I’m in my 50’s and I just discovered them two years ago. I was quick to say that rock died by the year 2000 before finding them. I was so wrong! There is alot of great rock and metal since then - unfortunately you gotta look for it, because its just not on radio anymore. These guys are as good or better than so many popular rock/metal bands we all know and love from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s! I’m happy to have found them and am rapidly discovering alot of other great heavy music from the 2000’s🤘

Love this song, and it and 'Crows on a Wire' are my two favorites on this album. Based on how they played Last Hero on the Royal Albert Hall DVD, the first guitar solo is played by Myles, the second one towards the end is by Mark. Excellent reaction, DH. I had never picked up the dual time signatures before. I'm always learning here!
@josephdean37222 жыл бұрын
Crows on wire is also my second favorite on this album. Then I'd have to say island of fools
@saidoterodiseno2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's right. Myles has some more bluesy/neoclassical/melodic style, while Mark has a more aggressive/shred/legato approach.

This song is epic!!! If you want an epic song, go and search for the last song of each AB album... Please check Dying Light! Another great epic song 😁

For some reason I always forget how good this song was and by extension, the album. Just remember all the other AB albums better. Thanks for jogging my memory. Fantastic song.

Hey Dave. Thank you so much for reacting to The Last Hero. Enjoyed the listen and review as much as I thought I would....oh and glad you appreciated it too. Sorry if my persistence caused any annoyance, but I knew I was on a good thing. Loved how in depth you went. It gave me an even better appreciation of this masterpiece. Now to react to AB "This Side of Fate". You'll love it 👌👍🏻

Now you NEED to react to This Side of Fate by Alter Bridge it’s off this same album and it’s EPIC!!! Myles’ vocals are incredible, the guitar work, the drums, bass EVERYTHING

I'd like to make a suggestion, if that's okay. Please give Myles Kennedy's *The Ides of March* a listen. 🙏🏼

I love Alter Bridge so much, I'm happy to see a reacter with an ear like you really digging into these songs. They have a treasure trove of more stuff for you to check out and analyze for us and I'm looking forward to it

Thank you so much David, next I could suggest is The Other Side and Crows on a Wire. Both are absolute bangers.
@johnathanpratt9442 жыл бұрын
Crows on a Wire is awesome, and The Other Side is a simple but very heavy Alter Bridge song. It's actually, aside from Metalingus, what got me into Alter Bridge!

Just relistened to this reaction Dave. Was as enjoyable as the first time. Cheers. Looking forward to you doing "This Side of Fate" one day 😉

I'm so glad you got to this song!!! I was really hoping it beat Cry of Achilles hahahaha 🤷🏽♂️ glad you love it as I do! One of my favorite alter bridge songs. Their lives are still the best though. I gained the most respect for them after seeing them live. Keep brining the Alter Bridge!! Another awesome video!

I love this song and this band. I have listened and followed them from their very start. Also, I love your reviews! You are such a down to earth, every day type of guy who knows his stuff and it's refreshing. Keep on keepin' on brother. 🤘🤘

Hell yeah! 😍🤘. You finally did it. Thank you so much for reacting to this song. This is one of my favourite AB songs. The first solo is played by Myles Kennedy (which you explained a lot) and the ending shredding solo is played by Mark Tremonti. Fantastic explanation my friend. For the next Alter Bridge reaction video, keep Alter Bridge aside 😉 and react to Marching In Time by Tremonti (AB guitarist's solo band). It's the title track of his latest album which was released few months ago. See you soon David! 🅰️🅱️💯💙❤️🤘🔥.

Watching that smile & then surprise on your face was just so awesome! I guessed you were going to give it a 9.3 so I was close! Lol!😁 Can you plz react to Alter Bridge "Island Of Fools" "Bleed It Dry" "Peace Is Broken" Thank you so much! You totally freakin rock my friend! As always, you brightened up this girl's day! Til the next 1☮ 💥💯🖤🆎️🎼🤘

Also check out Born for One Thing and Explosia from Gojira. Born for One Thing has a very trippy intro that can be interpreted different ways, and I love it so much! Explosia on the other hand is just a nonstop freight train with a sorta repetitive riff, but it tears your face off!

As a long time Alter Bridge fan it's nice to see another fan being formed. Please consider doing a Tremonti song from the new album Marching in Time. Like If Not For You, A World Away, or Marching in Time. Thank you kindly for your time and BTW a great reaction.
@GabrielN19782 жыл бұрын
Fine craftsmanship right there for the world to enjoy. AB is one of the few bands who actually create songs with meaning and very complex structure. Like someone said before: There is no casual AB fan. Either you love them or not. Nice reaction as ever, although I don't agree with you regarding Blackbird. Dude, that song is the Anthem of AB.😊
@conrad98gtp2 жыл бұрын
Hey David, you should check out the live version of this song! Myles Kennedy, the lead singer, actually laid down the first killer guitar solo! Both he and Mark Tremonti play guitar off each other so well and orchestrate their parts so well. Here's a link to a live video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/onWklauZic-pbrM

Trust me you gotta hear their song Metalingus which im gonna say you've most likley heard but havent realised. By the way, Myles played the first guitar solo Mark plays the 2nd solo in this song.
