I always loved how Rhinox was both the brains and the brawn.

The old dynamic was that only Optimus was the only one capable on taking over Megatron. But with Beast Wars, Megs here has to deal with two heavyweights.

...Y'know, back in the day, my brain could never quite parse exactly WHAT Megatron did to rip off Rhinox's arm, but now playing it slowly, frame by frame, I can see it - he's grabbing Rhinox by the elbow with the pincer-bit at the end of his tail-blaster thing, and just ripping the arm off that way.

He would be supremely badass if Optimus saved Rhinox at Beast Machines He would kick megatron's single elegant but* And he would adopt both Nightscream and Noble as their children (Despite noble is megatron's organic side)

TFW you forgot Megatron's own tail is the reason the Axalon was grounded for good.

Yeah, that does kinda take away a bit from that one win... if it was just about the brawl, then Rhinox bodied him, but in so doing, Megatron got what he wanted - the Axalon was knocked out of the sky. EDIT: Well, technically what he wanted was to _capture_ a Functional Axalon... but making sure the Maximals don't escape is surely an acceptable consolation prize in his eyes.

Rhinox's primary weakness is a very real lack of ambition. He doesn't _want_ to lead. He wants to be a support. But when Rhinox gets reprogrammed, Megatron has a nasty habit of giving him a heaping helping of Ambition and Aggression. The first time he tried it, he underestimated Rhinox, who IMMEDIATELY started working on overthrowing him. His later repeat attempt was much better planned, having learned from that mistake. While he took away Rhinox's intelligence as Tankor, he hard-coded in a block to prevent him from directly attacking Megatron, juuust in case. Tankor!Rhinox thought he was being the supreme Mastermind, but he was still being influenced by Megatron's programming, which I'm pretty sure is the only reason he stayed evil when he got his brains and memory back. Megatron still had a hand on the wheel without Rhinox realizing it, and so while Megatron didn't necessarily know what he was up to, Megatron knew it would ultimately benefit him.
