The reason i think Lloyd being a green ninja makes sense, is because in bionicle, the chosen one (takua/takanuva) was also not a part of the toa team, and joined them when he became the toa of light. And we all know ninjago takes a lot of inspiration from bionicle.

About the "good" Garmadon timeline thing, since it's the only potential timeline not dependant on a choice or few that one of the characters makes... I have the entire timeline in a separate tab to go through the potential changes and events one by one. (Bless all the people that contributed to the Wiki.) Here we go. Maybe the snake just didn't get him, or the katana dropped further from them, or maybe Garmadon, upon seeing the snek, struck them down within seconds. Either way, none of the negative energy, bad vibes, or intrusive thoughts he had can be acted upon. Given that he inherited the power of Destruction, while Wu inherited Creation, the fact that both of them are good people makes it rather interesting... Wonder how this will turn out. Since the siblings had no reason to seek a cure for Garmadon, the two probably defeat Samukai sooner, and have less time to mingle with Chen and his shenanigans, all the while both pursue Misako. This implies that Garmadon, the Good Boy[tm] he is by this point, would not try to trick her into loving him by signing Wu's confession letter, and allowed his younger Brother to be with her. This may mean that since Wu is so occupied with Misako reciprocating his feelings, Morro ends up neglected. Now, angered by the lack of recognition by the Golden Weapons, his descent into obsessively trying to become the Green Ninja begins (and tragically ends) sooner. I don't think that without Garmadon, Chen would not have been able to rise to power, or trick the serpentine and humans to fight again, so perhaps the uneasy truce ends up broken, but because Garmadon was already fighting alongside Wu, the wars end sooner, and less losses take place. Misako and Wu get married, all the while Garmadon, perhaps, searches for Morro, just as concerned as his Brother. Discovering Morro's demise, Garmadon informs Wu, who, with his and Misako's newborn child now at his hands, vows to be a better teacher and parental figure. Since Garmadon has no reason to try and claim the Golden Weapons, he is probably wise enough to know and warn Wu that the Underworld folk would definitely want to get their boney hands on them, so, perhaps, hiding those away would be for the best. Pretty much all of Garmadon's actions from that point until the point in time at which the pilot episodes end, can be handed off to Samukai, who probably has no idea how deadly the Golden Weapons are to his ilk, and just acts upon all his evil deeds without Garmadon to boss him around. Doctor Julien and amnesiac Zane are separated, the other ninja's parents have their own problems and character arcs, since the Time Twins, Lilly, and Cliff aren't really affected by Garmadon's moral alignment. There would definitely be more secret support for Kai and Nya after the loss of their parents, all the while Misako and Wu try to surround their child, the one to be the Green Ninja someday, with as much love and comfort as possible. Garmadon unfortunately knows that the child will inevitably have to face the Overlord, lurking far away, and maybe even trains the kid some proper martial arts in secret, becoming a sort of a second Father figure to them, so much so that the child loves his Uncle as much as his Mother and Father. Meanwhile, Wu is off gathering the four elemental masters to obtain the Golden Weapons as their rightful owners, and defeat Samukai, and prevent him from destroying a huge chunk of Ninjago (and himself) with the weapons' power. The pilot episodes' events, again, would most likely proceed as usual, sans Garmadon being the antagonist. I think it'd be rather funny, if at one point, as Wu tells the ninja about his Brother, Kai and/or Jay inisist on making sure that a guy with the name "Garmadon" isn't the one behind all this, since his name sounds so sinister. I guess Kai would be lured by Nya having actually broken out of her imprisonment, only for both of them to be ambushed, because Nya was only allowed to break out for the sake of getting Kai to obtain the sword. Oof. Kai battles a huge horde of spooky scary skeletons, soon thankfully helped by Wu, who takes the sword, and hops down into the Underworld to take care of Samukai himself. The ninja and Nya get together again to formulate a plan, only for Garmadon himself to pop up. Points for the possibility of Kai and/or Jay being very vocal about how Garmadon _has to be_ the one behind all this. In reality, Garmadon came to help the ninja tame the dragons, get to the Underworld, retrieve the weapons, rescue Wu, and kick Samukai's teeth in. For the sake of drama, let's pretend Samukai is a bit powered up, and can hold onto three of the weapons without combusting, and almost defeats Wu, but the gang pops up, does their Tornado Of Creation thingy, and restores peace in the land. I'd like to note that adding little red herrings about Garmadon being a bad guy would make this hypothetical show a bit more interesting, until he shows up, and proves to be just A Chill Dude[tm] with a remaining air of foreboding mystery to him. Wu and Misako's child continues their training with Garmadon's guidance, and only gets all up in the serpentine's business because they wanted to test their abilities, but having Hypnobrai now at their command in the same way Lloyd has (accidentally hypnotising Slithraa into following their orders), this kid, who _hasn't_ spent half their life at Darkley's, and was actually raised to be a decent person, decided to try and restore peace between the sneks and humans. But upon leading the Hypnobrai into the village, the villagers panic, the ninja come to their rescue, beat up the snakes, and suddenly see Wu's child, who mentions Garmadon having taught them a thing or two about fighting, and, of course, it's misinterpreted to be Garmadon's evil plot to start another serpentine war. Pretty much everything from then on is built around the ninja misinterpreting the child's friendly intentions as an attempt to start a war, the child misinterpreting the ninja's efforts to stop them as a mass serpentine genocide, Wu and Misako being confused as Hell, Garmadon, who has his doors kicked down by his nibling, and the ninja for different reasons is doubly confused, Pythor is a total manipulative bastard that takes advantage of the child, things spiral out of control very quickly, but still follow the series' events for now. I would like to note that Zane's dream involves the Green Ninja defeating the Overlord, which causes everyone great alarm. While the ninja, Nya and Wu travel on the Destiny's Bounty, and the child continues in vain to achieve peace, seen as a villain for freeing the serpentine tribes, Misako tries to get her kid back, travelling on her own, and confronting Garmadon along the way, because as far as she's concerned, Garmadon, an oni, one with the power to destroy, was the one to influence her child into such dangerous endeavours. Garmadon himself is triply confused and hurt, worried that evil coursed through his veins since birth, and no matter how much he sacrificed for his family and loved ones, he could only bring destruction. I guess the child tries to hide out at Darkley's, and is heartbroken to be told that they are the most rotten and evil kid the other students know, only to be betrayed by Pythor as well. That is when they are finally found by Wu and the gang, and stay on the Bounty, until Misako is also picked up, and the family is reunited... Until the kidnapping by Pythor happens, and Garmadon decides to not just drown in sadness at what a bad horrible no-good person he is, but help rescue the child. The ninja have their individual subplots of unlocking their true potentials, and Pythor tries to get the fangblades to get the Great Devourer to start shit, and yada-yada, but this isn't really about them. Eventually the child is revealed to be the Green Ninja before the other team members, Wu, Misako, and Garmadon. Garmadon knew of the child's fate by whatever means, which only landed more suspicions on him, but every misunderstanding is soon cleared up with, y'know, communication skills and patience, and the gang chases after the final fangblade. ... I have no idea where else this can go, so if anyone read ALL THIS, and doesn't want to fix anything with my interpretation, I would be more than happy to see potential directions for this "AU".

Garmadon would have never met the Overlord because he never used the golden weapons to create the black bounty making him able to read Captain Soto’s Journal preventing both The Legacy of The Green Ninja, and Rebooted giving them no reason to go to The Tournament of Elements, and Garmadon never sacrificed himself because he didn’t need to meaning Morro never escaped The Cursed Realm, This would mean Clouse alive, never finding the Teapot of Tyraan also preventing Skybound. The Day of the Departed would not happen because Cole isn’t a ghost. The Hands of Time season would still happen because it already was solid history, but it would happen very differently. Harumi wouldn’t be corrupted with revenge because The Devourer was destroyed before her parents had died, so The Sons of Garmadon wouldn’t even exist. This would also prevent the Hunted season and possibly but unlikely prevent The March of The Oni. The ninja would get bored in the nearly two year gap between Rise of the Snakes, and Hands of Time so Secrets of Forbidden Spinjitzu would probably happen early. Master of the Mountain would be at the same time as it already is because it is based around Vania’s birthday bit if the vengestone buyers are any of the villains that never happened, this season would be anticlimactic. As for the Prime Empire season, I don’t know where this would be, without Skybound, the ninja would have never met the Mechanic, probably not knowing whether or not to investigate his base. The Island would still happen, but would be the exact same. (I have only seen the death of Nya in Seabound.) Nya would still be alive after Seabound because she had never become the water ninja in season 5 which would be out of the show because Morro would not have escaped from the cursed realm, not giving her a reason to become the water ninja.
