Thank you for sharing this. I'm vice president of a fly fishing organization and 95% of our members are older gentlemen who constantly share alternative materials or give ideas of random supplies and what they can be used for. I always enjoy learning about these. I'll check out your other videos in this series.

Love seeing stuff like this. I'm in eastern KY and my closest shop is 4 hours away so I always check the craft section in every store I go into.

THANKS FOR THAT TIP MAN CAN GET A HELL OF A LOT MORE OUT OF THAT BIG ROLE THAN I CAN GET OUT OF WHAT I GET AT THE FLY SHOP

Polypropylene floats but it floats with parts of some fibers just beneath the surface. (Test it in a clear glass of water.) The fly shop I bought mine from said it was pre-treated to ensure floatation, but it acted the same as untreated, so I use a pre-treatment. Tim Flagler did a video on Bonnie fibers & recommended treating the fibers too. He used a Loon brand. I also use Antron (which does sink ever so slowly) for wings on dries & pre-treat it so it floats. If you want a sinking flying ant, use untreated Antron for the wings.

Thank you so much for this video! I’ve went to a few fly shops looking for poly yarn, and I can never find it.

What would you use for EP Brushes?
@victorvela6204 Жыл бұрын
Much easier to brush if you separate the braid first then brush it out . Just an FYI

Simple suggestion to improve your videos man: Look at the LENS of the camera so you are "looking" at us, your audience. Looking "over there" at the laptop or other device makes it look to us that you are, well, looking "over there". WE your audience is "IN" the camera... Also, can I use acrylic yarn chopped up in a coffee grinder for "dubbing"?! Thanks and be well!!
