At our age a little brown is good for us, for our bone and mental health, way better than those D3 vitamins we must take every day. I used to be very proper in my mid-20's to 30's often wearing a little vest and usually with a trendy brooch, but I am looking for a few more linen pants, they are very cool in Florida summers since I hate showing my legs and they are so comfortable. This week we had record lows and on the coldest day the lifeguard and I were the only ones on the beach. I only stayed in the water for 15 minutes since the surf was rough with rip currents and I didn't want the lifeguard who was all bundled up to come and rescue me. What a nice holiday you are having.

Hi, I am an expat living in Lanzarote. Go to Open Mall in Arrecife for some shopping. Or Deiland in Playa Honda. We do have mild winters in Lanzarote and therefore some spells of cool weather, so woolies are needed. It’s not always hot all year round. 😊 BUT massively warmer than England. Enjoy the sunshine, it’s great for the spirit.

Lovely to be reminded of the walk along to the marina. I quite liked the market days. Great buzz, and fun to people-watch whilst having lunch. I was there for a month Oct/Nov 2016 to explore the potential for retiring there. I explored the whole island using buses plus a few guided coach tours. Fascinating when you go beyond the resorts, but I had doubts as to whether there’s enough to do if you’re there full time, not being a sunbathing lady wot lunches. Having said that, the ‘Rising Tide’ sculptures by Jason deCaires Taylor were at Arrecife, where I went by bus, and he had his workshop out past the Rubicon Marina and I walked out there one day to see several works in progress dotted about. Love his work 🩵 Having previously seen and photographed ‘Rising Tide’ on the Thames it was interesting to see in installation in a whole different setting and climate. I saw David Gray at O2 a couple of years ago. Brilliant! Brighton is great for small gigs at any number of intimate venues. I’m lucky to have a friend whose daughter works in the music industry and lets us know who and what’s coming up. Many small, intimate gigs this past year seeing incredibly talented musicians 🎶

There are men grunting made me smile 😃. Suzy, I went to Playa Blanca and stayed in the marina for the last two years for my birthday. We did dine in some expensive restaurants, that looked lovely, but found the male staff in a couple of restaurants very rude. They made us feel as though we were an inconvenience. Unfortunately this ruined my birthday twice so not going again, it has put me off Lanzarote altogether. Have you found that at all? Enjoy the rest of your stay, my favourite blogger 😊

Loved the "trip" video. I was not familiar with this place at all so very interesting to see the hotels and shops. I too am a serial shopper when I travel. I may not buy everything, but I want to see what's out there that's diffferent and interesting. I laughed about the "bra hiker" invention. I've worn underwires for years as I have a "dolly parton" chest which was not a bad thing in my salad days, but alas now it's hard to see that I have a torso being short waisted. There's only so much hiking up for me unfortunately. I like the linen pants, but have never had very good luck with linen anything due to the wrinkling. Maybe find a better blend perhaps. I'd ask the hotel for a step stool so you can reach the hangers better. Interior designer must have been a tall man. I have trouble at the store just getting the milk out of the coolers!! Safe travels.
