Quite agree. Ive heard songs of the early beatles period of 63 - 65 virtually dismissed as 'girl-boy' pop tunes, that don't provide much musical value. This tune comes from 'A Hard Day's Night', released around mid 64 (around the time the beatles toured Australia). In my view it contained 4 very soulful and memorable ballads (besides other hit songs and harder energetic tunes). These 'ballads' would be : 'If I fell', Things we said today', 'I'll be back' and of course this tune (And I lover her). Each of them and rich, beautiful and meaningful melodies that have stood the test of time.

You are so very likeable and your lesson packed with good advise. Imo Pat improved on this song arrangement but being as talented as he is, it is a real challenge to imitate his playing. Us with small hands thank you for showing an alternative that does not need the thumb. I believe you capture the feel of his interpretation while not over complicating anything and thus hopefully more will be able to play this amazing tune that has haunted and obssesed me from the first time I heard it played by Pat.
