Although I do think you need to given the kitten a separate dish of food, because mama is eating it all, and not allowing the little one to eat.

Pets are not toys... people throw them out when they are fed up (not in this case but still... RIP owner)... Pets are like family members! They should be treated with respect & care. Even if you can't care for them PLEASE find another nice home for them don't abandon them. Just think how would you feel if the person who you trust the most abandons you. Mama cat was so hungry that she didn't share with her baby and was scratching at the food bowl to make sure she got every bit out of it. They need more food, more often, and in separate bowls. I also noticed that Mama cat was looking for a scratching post. Perhaps this could be added to the cat room.

Years back, I moved into a house and noticed an old black cat always hanging around it. I learned from my neighbors that the cat's previous owner abandoned him when he/she moved away. As an older cat, the stray would have had a had time competing for food with the younger ones but avoided starving because my neighbors were kind enough to keep feeding him until I moved in. The cat wouldn't let anyone else adopt him but stayed inside and around the empty house by going through a small pet door. No doubt he was waiting for an owner who would never return. It was so heart-breaking to see so I immediately adopted the cat and named him Puma. He was the sweetest cuddlebug ever and brought me a lot of joy. Sadly, he only lived about a year or so longer before passing away from age and illness. Its been 14 years since I lost Puma and I still miss him so much...

I absolutely agree that you can provide food for the kitten even on a paper plate if need be, both the mother and baby suffered starvation so the fear of having no food will be with them forever. Also, were they actually taken to a Veterinary hospital because the doctor was not wearing any protective gear like gloves and the larger gray cat was not given any pain medication before having his wounds cleaned. Who is the doctor, I would be more than happy to go into my savings account and send to the hospital gloves and whatever else is needed that I can afford including food.

Thankyou for taking these poor souls in and the burned cat. Poor mama cat clearly couldn't undrrstand why she couldn't get into what once was her home. I hope the burned grey cat was found a home, too! As others have said, though, one sachet of food is clearly not enough for mama - and her kitten hardly got any! They also could have done with a bath after being on the dirty streets. But glad they were rescued them, they may not havexsurv8ved much longer! 😊
