I remember reading in Guitar magazine an interview 1981 with Ed where he talked about Mike doesn’t contribute at all to the song writing process and he’s adding an addition to his house with all the money he’s making off of us. Billy Sheehan said he was talked to about joining VH in two different occasions. One by Ed and once by Dave. I don’t know if these guys ever appreciated the harmonies this guy contributed on vocals. Of all the mud slinging in the press over the years, Mike is the only one who never slung it.

I am with Anthony. His bass and Vocals added way more to V.H. than credit has ever been given and Hagar is a lucky guy to have him and I am not really a Bass Player fan LOL but a bass Player than can sing like Michael? Gold

Eddie spoke bad about everybody...Clapton, Page, Rhoads. His insecurity and paranoia were off the charts. Add to that how he treated Mike and he just wasnt a good guy. Great guitarist but I always looked at him as the epitome of a stuckup person. Surely his substance abuse problem had a role in his behavior but he never conquered it til it was to late. I also think Alex should have gotten more credit for the bands success.

It's funny that Eddie wanted loyalty from Michael. But, it was Eddie, Alex & Roth who treated Michael like crap. If I were Michael, I would have gone with Sammy too. Eddie wasn't in his right mind.

Mike was climbing the walls when the Brothers were on hiatus because he loved to play the stuff live…When Mike joined the Sammy and Dave tour in 2002 Ed and Alex saw it as a betrayal sadly. (Paul)

The same thing happened with Dave back in 85.Dave wanted to make another album and the brothers wanted to take time off.so Dave had enough of waiting for them to do something and left same thing with Mike he was sick of waiting for them to do something so he did something with Sammy which the brothers took as a betrayal and got rid of him

More evidence that Alex can't get along with anyone. I know Sammy wants to reconcile with Alex but he shouldn't waste his time. Alex just isn't user friendly.

Wrong! No… that’s not all because Ed didn’t pull Wolf in until LONG after Ed and Alex decided to betray Mike simply because Mike decided to play a few gigs with Sammy while waiting for them to get their sh!t together! In other words, it was the petulant and petty, sometimes ego-maniacal Van Halen brothers who expected Mike to just stop playing/working for seemingly years while they d!cked around deciding when to play again. Also, if Ed would have told both Mike and Sammy he had a cancer diagnosis I’ll guarantee Sam and Mike would have stuck by him like glue… however long necessary! But Ed just let them hang out there, wondering what the hell was going on. On the one hand, Ed and Alex decided to cut Mike out of any royalties whatsoever, on the other hand they expected him to be on their 24/7 leash forever while they made money sitting still, and Mike received nothing, NADA, from them with bills to pay! Sorry… the VH Brothers were two of hard rock and heavy pop’s biggest and most talented players… but they sucked as friends and human beings to others when they couldn’t have their way… ONLY their way! Being incredible drummers and guitarists do not always equate to loving, righteous, compassionate, and fair human beings… now… THAT’S ALL, period! TRUTH!

Get over it. Ed needed his son at that time with him and Wolfe has 5x the talent than Mike has. Everything worked out fine for everyone involved with the band and Same and Mike did their thing together.
