Watched this review and bought one one today. Went to rehearsal and plugged in a mic via TC VoiceLive Play and there was BUZZ. Went round the back and clicked the GROUND button ...SILENCE.came. Moreover no feedback, and the mic was not pointing 180. Excellent gear.The reviewer is spot on.

Just an observation - I notice from the back of the speaker that it is in fact 235 + 65Wrms - not 300+65 as stated in the audio. Not that it matters - max SPL is the key statistic, rather than power. And I should mention that the Behringer B212 does also have the lock screw on the pole socket. But otherwise, helpful review, thanks.

I've been using the Alto Truesonic TS112a's for around a year now for FOH on acoustic gigs and as wedge monitors for my bigger rig. I did a thorough a/b of those with the EV ZLX12p's and I preferred the Alto's. The EV's sound less natural and scooped compared to the Altos. As a result I've very recently bought a TS110a to use as a wedge monitor with the TS112a's and it far exceeded my expectations! I'm now looking to buy another one or two TS110's and maybe a TS Sub12a or two to use with them for small acoustic gigs. The Alto Truesonic range has really surprised me with how good these speakers are and I genuinely can't think of anything better within their price bracket!

Great review, I own a pair and did a party with them and a Jbl 718ELF and they were loud. I used a driverack px with the setup. I had backup just in case but they did good. Definitely worth the money.

I just bought 2 of these and I have some old school Barringer 15 bottoms and a 12 channel Eurorack Rx 1220fx mixer and I have 2 stands for a Altos. The mixer has monitor outs so how many monitors can I run? The older Barringer 15s are also 600watts peak. I plan on sm58s for mics. This should be a very clean sounding pa

Thanks Chase for the view and comment. I have played with the Gemini 12inch cabs and was NOT impressed with transparency. They are better than the garbage from Kustom and Harbinger. To me those distort and peak out very easily. But I do think Behringer and this Alto is one step up from Gemini

Was looking at these ..thanks for the review. I may just take a chance on them..seems like they tried to put some thought into the design..and they are affordable so cant really be too dissapointed....thanks again.

Thanks for watching. They can't be beat for the price. I noticed too that they use these on American Idol in the rehearsal room. So that says something. I do recommend running a mixer to shape the eq and maybe add some reverb but if DJ then running directly into them is just fine :-) Thanks again
@danrawley736510 жыл бұрын
Its going good thanks :) The only reason why I ask is because I once started out with a system thinking it would be fine, tested the kit out at home, got into the hall environment, they weren't up to the job, that was me having little experience, I just wanted to check, I intended to use these as the main cab setup not monitors? Would that still be ok? Debating on just getting the 2 TS112A's, but then the sub has a power rating of 500w RMS, didn't want to run the risk of there not being enough power for a venue, its behringers smallest sub in the range, but its powerful, ideally, it would be village hall gigs or medium sized rooms, pub function etc?

Thank you for that answer ! Another question : paint Power 400 watt true? or indeed a maximum of 200-250 ?

Hey guys!? Which one would you recommend to be used for electronic drum monitor? Alto, Behringer, or Samson? What specific model?

Hi...does it have a voltage switch 110v to 220v or should I open the back cover??? Tks...
@DominickArena9 жыл бұрын
I believe it does.
@alexrod23029 жыл бұрын
For what I read it doesn't...I need to carry out of US, so I need the 220v/240v option. I live in Argentina and here is three times more expensive :) Maybe I should go for a Behringer F1220D Eurolive Monitor Speaker System that looks like multivoltage, but no sure 100% and costs $150 with coupon. but haven't found reviews for now. Tks

Hello, do you think that the BEHRINGER B212D is better than the Alto 112a? What advise BEHRINGER B212D or Alto 112a?
@DominickArena9 жыл бұрын
I think both the Alto and Behringer are very comparable. But when I was a DJ and ran those for a long period of time they got hot and the sound started to fatigue a little. The Altos have a cooling fan which helps a lot. The Altos are my go to budget speaker now
@danrawley736510 жыл бұрын
Hi there, I currently I own the pair of Alto TS110A's and taking advice from your long term experiance in sound and P.A equipment, would it be possibe to get away with using these in small to medium sized venues with a powered sub, ideally, I was looking at the Behringer B1200D Pro Eurolive Active Sub? I would love to start up as a dj, but i'm not sure if I could use these along with two of the subs later on? Would this setup be comparable to the Alto TS112A'S? I'm struggling to decide since they are good speakers, thanks alot
@DominickArena10 жыл бұрын
Hey man how goes it. These 10's would be 100% fine in a small to medium room. I've actually used 1 in gigs and had over 80 people in the room. 20ft ceilings and about 2500 sq ft of open floor plan. Did fine. So running 2 with a sub would be more than enough. They might tell ya to turn it down in the smaller venues actually LOL.

Hello, how can I connect this directly to my phone? Thanks
@DominickArena6 жыл бұрын
Since this review...you can buy the Bluetooth Verizon and link over Bluetooth to your phone. But if you have this version you would have to buy a special cable thats 3.5 mm to 1/4 Jack. Then you can go from the headphone out on the phone to the line in on the cab. Keep in mind it will only play in Mono and not true stereo. I recommend buying the Bluetooth verison

@harolddasynth79510 жыл бұрын
Hi man,could you recommend this to use for small gigs,keyboard plus singers?thanks
@crisletrah10 жыл бұрын
Hey, could you recommend these mainly as floor monitors? They will be used for everything DJing, Bands, and maybe as mains for small events. Thanks.
@DominickArena10 жыл бұрын
Yeah they can be used as floor monitoring due to the wedge shaped they can be placed on the floor on thier side. I would recommend the Alto 12's as mains for DJ and piping bands thru them as mains. I would probably go with a dedicated floor monitor over these cause the inputs are on the side and they don't move. These could be used in a pinch but are extremely light and will slide. The inputs are on the back making connections alittle tight when in the floor monitor position. But YES they will work ;-)

how can u connect it to ipod ? is it possible?
@DominickArena10 жыл бұрын
Yes you can run it directly to an ipod but due note it will run in mono. With a special cable...3.5 jack into the headphone jack of the ipod/iphone to a rca. On the RCA end connect a RCA to 1/4 jack adapter and there ya go. Ipod direct to the PA cab. I have done this before on other cabs and it does work fine. Again....mono only. Even if running 2 cabs. You can pick up a RCA to 1/4 jack adapter at Guitar Center or Radio Shack. But I recommend if connecting an Ipod that you run a small mixer. That way you get true stereo and have an eq to adjust tones.

im planning to buy this speaker this week.... i dont know anything about speakers or amplifiers etc...i bought pyle pro speaker with bluetooth radio wireless mics usb outlet SD card slot...its not really loud and it only last 5 days its already broken....im planning to buy alto speaker because i think its good but i dont know what amp i will buy for it
@DominickArena10 жыл бұрын
jayr122001 you don't need a separate amp with these because they are self powered. But if your looking for a mixer...Alto makes a matching 4, 8 & 16 mixer. They are small and passive (no power) yes you do have to plug them in...but they don't provide wattage amp power. Just a preamp for these speakers. They start at about $150 and go up from there :-)
@jayr12200110 жыл бұрын
thanks for the idea...i ordered alto 800 watts speaker with bluetooth connectivity for $450.....i hope its very loud and give me really good bass
@DominickArena10 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah that should rock! With the bluetooth you can just stream your tunes to the cab ;-) Keep in mind thou that bluetooth qaulity is not as good as direct in. Some bluetooth speakers have the AptX feature which cleans the bluetooth feed giving it more of a CD qaulity sound. But I think this should sound fine ;-) Hope ya dig it

How is it compared to a Samson equivalent?
@DominickArena7 жыл бұрын
I've never been a Huge fan of Samson products. I mean they are ok. Alto is a Budget brand but I think you get a decent product for the money
@guitardipu7 жыл бұрын
Ok thanks for your reply. I am undecided between the Alto Tx8 and the Samson Auro D208. Both have similar specs on papers, similarly priced, the only advantage which the Samson has over the Alto is 2 input XLR+1/4 jack, 2 EQ knobs. Which to choose??
@DominickArena7 жыл бұрын
King's I also have the Tx8. If you have the money go,for the 10 inch. Defiently worth the extra punch, volume and inputs. I use the 8 as a personal floor monitor and it does the job but nothing to brag about
@guitardipu7 жыл бұрын
Ok thanks for the input...i will definitely consider the bigger models..

They took the fan away & use Piezo Tweeters they caulk a heat sink to the back of the speakers now. Lots of folks speaking about the tweeters blowing. You still can't beat Peavey you can change the Speakers in a PV with just the cone the Only Company that makes Speakers this way = saving lots of money on Speakers. Also the Compression Drivers are easy to service if one go's you can take off three screws & change the tweeters on the spot. Going w/PV PA gear will save you money in the long run & they list the RMS of their Amps & Speakers.

Hi, Thanks very much for this valuable information. Are the Alto's still holding up? Our 3pc (bass, drums, guitar, vocals) are considering getting a new PA, (Yamaha DSX15 sub & 2 TS110a's) The material is 50's-80's rock&roll in small to medium sized lounges. We mic kick vocals a wee bit of guitar and a bit of bass. 2 questions. Do you think this equipment is sufficient for us? I'd like to know what the warranty is on the Alto's? I emailed them but got no response. Sincere Thanks, Don
@utubehound697 жыл бұрын
The new ones have no compression drivers & no fan they have a heat sink stuck to the speaker magnet w/ calking very poor ratings many folks said that the tweeters blow as does most Piezo Tweeters I'd never buy a PA speaker unless it has CD tweeters.

I agree man. The Behringer D212 are better than the 10's by Alto but check out the 12's by alto. 800 watts peak power and same features as the 10's. I like Behringer ive used them in the past. Great speaker for the money. But since ive played and owned the Altos ive been sold on them.
