As a providence native, I will state that everybody who is complaining about this video and the food prep.. hot Weiners in olnyville is one of the best culinary experiences one can have. Not only is the food the bomb, but the customer service is awesome and entertaining.

I really miss these things. I live in Nebraska and every time I go back to Rhode Island/Mass to visit relatives I have to get a bunch of them. I wish they sold them outside of Rhode Island. How come the Chicago Dog has caught on everywhere, but not the far superior Hot Weiner? :(

I know I’m 3 years late on this reply, but it’s “Olneyville New York System”. They have two locations of the same name. One is in the city of Cranston, and the other is in the Olneyville section of Providence. The Cranston spot is ok, but you can’t beat the original spot in Providence.

Yes Lucas is just a very unique guy in how and his shoe which really centers around what Alton is doing going to "cheap eats" dining on a dome or local places that should be recognized as having some of the best food in the area. But Alton has achieved so much so I don't think it's even imaginable to compare the two

Grr! I still hate that I missed my chance with Alton years ago. He did a demo at the local mall where I lived. I was in cooking school at the time and they asked us for 5 people to help out. Well I said yes immediately but was never told if I had been picked. The day came and I was down at the mall picking up a tshirt when I saw the demo ending. I talked to my teacher and wouldn't you know it I had been the first person picked but was never told!

Am a 70 year resident of Rhode Island...there are hot weiner joints everywhere. Most of these restaurants have the words "New York Style" or "New York System" somewhere in their name. The interesting thing is, when talking to someone from NYC, they never have any idea what NY style/NY system weiners are. Most don't know what weiners are PERIOD!
