The intent is noble. The product is actually very innovative. However, the high pricing will be a barrier for most of the people. Keeping in mind that the general public in India is very cost sensitive, they might have trouble as far as the volume of sales is concerned. Would be interesting to see the growth trajectory of this company.

I mean as a product the pricing isn't high, I use my bike daily, and I have a Helmet worth 5k without any smart services, people don't realise the 500rs Helmet doesn't save you from anything. It's only there to avoid the cops, only an expensive certified helmet will save you (obviously sometimes even that won't), but an expensive good helmet is always a good investment.

They even told the co-founder to bring down the price considerably cuz it is obvious that the average Indian consumer will not be willing to spend that much. And as far as normal helmets are concerned, good quality helmets of Vega/Steelbird are available within the range of Rs 1500-2000/- , investing anything above that appears to be futile, apparently.

No awareness about actual good products has this mindset in India about helmets being cheap, which is the reason the Sharks felt 4k is too expensive, that's fine though and the advice given to them is legit for the Indian market, no doubt, and if they want to make money at the early stage they should follow the advice of them, I just wanted to make a point about that people a lot of them do buy 4k+ helmets now, as they start to realise the importance of it.
