Great video! I loved the Lone Peak 6s. The only hesitation for the 7s are the colors. I am glad they kept the rock plate. New follower here. Well done. Crow✌️

Just wonder if the two weak points of the previous LP 6 have been solved or not ? 1) The heel slippage. 2) The poor wet traction. And for the LP 7 how about the water drainage from real testing ?

I have gotten the answers by my self already, …. 1) The heel slippage for my self is just a bit and it could be fixed by the runner’s knot . 2)The wet traction is improved compared to the previous ones but it could not be on par with the Vibram one.

Hello, the wide model is more wide in the mid foot, and the heel 🙂

thank you for the video. I loved the Lone Peak 5 and 6. Will probably get the 7. you mentioned other more cushioned trail running shoes, could you be more specific ? I'm looking for Altra space with Hoka/OC cushioning, and perhaps Inov8 workmanship, does this shoe exist?

Wide at the Lone Peak is the Wide without misunderstandings. Wide means. Also wide at the Heel and less snug at the midfood. Modern shoe lasts means wider at the ball of the foot, while midfood, circumference of the food-ankle and the heel are slimmer. In other therms Straight fit of Hanwag is Altra Original and Hanwag wide is Like Altra Wide. Meindl calls Straight fit comfort fit. And First Brand with footshape shoe last is German company Baer, since 1984. The baer Family has a Brand named "Joe Nimble" with so called "Toefreedom"-shoe Last. There 100% functional footwear a the shoe have No Toe-Spring. Same at Baer at shoe Models with Zero-Drop. The insoles of the Joe Nimble Addict/Trail Addict, wandertoes and Ultreya make the shoes a 3mm-drop shoe.

Hey Ryan - thanks for this video. I'm new to trail running. I live in Ontario, Canada and will likely explore trails that might be wet/ somewhat snowy. I'm confused if I should get the Lone Peak 7 or the Lone Peak All-Wthr Low 2. I've heard waterproofness is a double-edged sword - on the one hand, water doesn't get in, but on the other if it does (from external sources or sweat), it's hard to get it out. What would be your thoughts? Does the Lone Peak 7 does a fair job at keeping your foot dry (or getting dry quickly if it gets wet), or should one consider the All-Wthr 2? Would love to hear from the community as well.

From what I’ve seen on trail, waterproofness is never really worth it. It helps sometimes to stay comfortable on the most grueling trails but the sweat does become a problem eventually, and regardless of waterproofness, water will always find its way in somehow. Also, from what I’ve heard, this is a shoe that dries very quickly so if water does become a problem with the regular version it can mitigate itself without you needing to worry. I’d say go with the regular version

I have a couple waterproof running shoes (Nike Pegasus Trail 4 GTX & Salomon Pulsar Trail GTX). So far they have been working well and kept my feet from getting wet and cold. I don't run them through puddles, or across streams though. I only use them on rainy days, through wet vegetation, and in snow.

Probably my worst trail running shoes I ever purchased 👎 . I previously bought the lone peak 3.5 few years ago. The grip was horrible & I struggle in slippery condition causing me to DNF 🥴

Curious if you mean the LP 7 specifically? And what type of slippery conditions

Are you saying the 3.5 wasn't good or the 7? I have the 4 and the 7 and both are amazing. I like the 7 more than the 4. The shoe fits like a glove. Solid heel cup with wide toe box. All the support you could ask for.

@@mptdevildog0811 i mean the 3.5 . The bad experience with that model made me never again consider buying another Altra trail shoe. I live in the tropicals climate. It can be really wet and muddy in the jungles . Yes I know if we used a better grip outsole with deeper lugs such as speedcross 5 , it won't be an issue but in the past I have used other trail running shoes that does not have aggressive lugs and still did okay. The outsole of the lone peak 3.5 was really bad & disappointing. Hopefully the 7 has improve.
