Wow that was real harsh from the ref, the player didn’t have much time to retreat and clearly wasn’t trying to waist time. 3-0 up at the time ffs. Terrible decision he must be very embarrassed reflecting back on it. Non league refs for ya I guess wouldn’t expect less..

Even so how was it time wasting, it was a thrown in wasn't it? The opposition had the ball. I'm not sure on that ruling I'll have to refresh my memory.

@@joeutm212 ok... Here we go. It is an offence to be within 2 metres of the throw in if you are opposition. The fact he jumped meant he was interfering with the throw and the offence is punishable with a yellow card and Indirect free kick. The referee was right.

@@deanmoncaster ref could have been a decent person and just let him go, nobody would have complained, it didn’t effect the game and in that situation he was hardly interfering, the player threw it at him on purpose😂. He clearly just wanted to get his cards out cause he wanted to be the centre of attention. It’s just another example of wear a ref should just let the game go on instead of almost ruining a perfectly fine game over a petty shit rule. He also didn’t give a penalty and red card after a goal was stopped by someone’s hand.

@@joeutm212 while you have a point, it did make a game changing difference. From 3-0 to 3-2....... You may think the ref didn't need to issue the yellow but in that offence he had no choice, he either allows the offence and calls play on which would get him penalised by the referee association or does it right and by the book, issues a yellow and a free kick and continues to referee in good standing with the referees association. As a ref, which do you think you would pick?

Absolutely gutted my favourite Mariners commentator isn't on, but the win makes up for it! Before the sending off we looked like we was back in the Championship. Quality of play was on point! UTM!
