Tbh the carpet of spikes was a mistake, just getting 6 or 7 storms instead would’ve been a lot more powerful, also gg! Edit: apparently the 2x spikes thing was a bug, so it was recently patched, making spike storm cooler again

I don't think so, you're forgetting 2 things 1: carpet upgrade boosts damage to ceramics, moabs, and all bloons making it over 2x as powerful as a spike storm, that also includes it's ability 2: spike storm isn't just 5k, it's 5k plus all the other expensive upgrades, in total about 12k, so a carpet is only adding the price of 4.5 spike storms including the spike storm upgrade on the carpet, and carpet of spikes passive ability resets every 15 seconds whereas storms take 60 seconds, so a carpet of spikes costs 4.5x as much as a storm, but is 10x as powerful with 4 passives and 1 ability (5x) coming in the time of 1 single storm ability, and 2x the damage

Top path: good on long maps so it can build up. Middle path: actually good on short maps cuz it’s carpet of spikes will clump up more. Bottom path: good for later, longer rounds cuz it’s permanent effect will build up
