Great that you gave an opposition that doesn't need a pessure pot. They looked great and thankyou for replying to peoples questions and giving advise.

I love making these Pam! I passed them out this past Christmas. I truly wish I could get sponsored from a resin company. I would be using much more of it for much larger crafts and furniture. I can't wait to get going on my own videos. Keep going strong Pam! I love you dearly!❤🧡💛💚💙💜👍👍👍

Beautiful Pam,think you could use fish-tank gravel and get reasonable results? 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎😎
@mamabearssheshedtracykeato69414 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! However do yourself a favor because there's so much dust inside... Either give it a good blow out, or rinse them and dry them out really good. Otherwise it seems to seep into the resin itself. Making it somewhat cloudy. Just my two cents. Best wishes to you!

I use fish tank gravel, some brands are pre-washed, others are a little dusty - but the dust will rinse off x

This is great Pam ... I never even thought of using pots to make coasters ! Actually genius xx I need a pressure pot .. but super intimidated by those and no clue where to start ... so I'll start seeking videos on it xxx great video thanks xx

Thank you Claire i have a pressure pot for my business but otherwise a lot can be done without it. i use a lot of food boxes or plastics as moulds saves a fortune. Glad you enjoyed :-)

They look awesome, Pam 👍🏽 Wonder how a pine cone one would turn out. Full pour over a full cone, then slice it into multiple coasters, then thin re-pour to seal both ends? 🤔
@Plokman0404 жыл бұрын
Well she could always seal the ends like Nick, just use a good sealing polish cream like Yorkshire Grit or Shellowax. I understand full water proofing would be a good reason to coat it, but that is a very thin layer of resin but wood sealer would work the same since the Pine cone is just special Pine wood when all said and done.
@SMee674 жыл бұрын
@@Plokman040 👍🏽 Whatever works, I think they'd look phenomenal, like Pam's pine cone boxes 👌🏽
@Highlandboxes4 жыл бұрын
Yes great idea I'm sure that would work with a thin floor coat to seal them in. :-)

Those came out pretty. Using a mold release spray with those other containers might make them work better. I watched a video the other day that used a cheap pizza pan as a mold for making a clock. They used mold release on the pizza pan and the cured resin clock face just slid right off. I have heard you can use nonstick cooking spray as a mold release but have yet to try it. Just make sure whatever you use as mold release to give it full coverage, do a couple coats and I believe you are supposed to let it dry in between coats and before pouring resin. - Heidi

Very nice little project with a beautiful end result. Thanks for sharing. I was surprised by a few things: the choice of your molds (both first and second pots) and the fact that you poured all the resin in one time. I suppose the stones are heavier than the resin (correct me if I'm wrong) and appear on the bottom surface of the coasters. Was it necessary to do something with that afterwards?
@Highlandboxes4 жыл бұрын
Hi hans yes stones were heavy so om a small pour they were absolutely fine. Thank you :-)

I know you showed them here, but I am from the Midwest US and I have never seen any towel containers like those. What exactly are their difference as they remind me of a combination of Clorox disinfectant wipes and these blue Shop towels my dad likes to get. I suspect they are more than just bleach wipes though, I only ask because I really want good resin cleaning towels for spills and maybe saving my mixing cups too. Going to have to get my aquarium Gravel out and make a Rock Monster for my shop, this reminded me of that project gotta find a good design to go for. But first I got a Wood work and Resin combo for some robot characters I am needing to finish my templates for. I also got to turn a Osage wand for my dad (He found the wood and turned the bulk of it but he wants me to finish it, fitting since the handle I got in design for it will have Runes made by a friend of mine so it is a trio project.) and a Klayman to make. That reminds me, first may I call you Pam like your other Subscribers below I don't want to be too rude to presume and the other do you think it possible to cast Plasticne Clay in Resin? The Klayman I mentioned above he is from a clay animation and the statue part I will make with some Polyclay but I want his stand to look like it was made for a Claymation like the grass and dirt from Chicken Run or another Aardman short and I had the crazy idea to sculpt it out of such clay then give that a thin coat of UV resin. Ah but that is just me rambling on. I hope these Coasters do well whatever they are destined for, and may all your projects be fun, useful and amazing. My motto is "Custodi succensa flamma glossarium!" or in plain speaking "Keep kindled the flame of creativity!"
