I'm sure you're aware but for newer folks, wet concrete is an excellent way to get rid of excess water. Run the excess to a water tank then build a wet concrete refinery with inputs elevated to the middle of the tank. Once level gets even with the inputs, it will start filling the refinery. Self regulated water disposal, and you can never have enough concrete.
@ItsBitz
@ItsBitz Жыл бұрын
Highly recommend this for people that don't know!! I have plans for some concrete in the future, however, so I won't be using this method, as this is the normal procedure I usually use.

@@ItsBitz If I find I need the concrete, the awesome sink bound conveyors from the wet concrete "water sinks" will be converted to the overflow output of smart splitters. Absolutely every time I've tried refeeding the water it backs up even using valves on the return lines and extractor supply lines and the valves on the extractor supply lines have their max flow rates set to be limited to the difference. I was constantly emptying fluid buffers until I put in the wet concrete "water sinks". The "water sink" is also a must in any no-waste nuclear setup. I'd rather burn (wet) concrete than steel/plastic (packagers) into the awesome.

Also the water is now sinkable, so you hook the outputs of that refinery setup to a smart splitter, then set one side of the splitter’s output to your concrete storage reserves, and the other side to an AWESOME Sink. Bingo, no backup ever, no loss of valuable resources, plus a small trickle of tickets.

Nice video Bitz! I found out the hard way just how demanding signs are on the computer with my own game save. Hopefully, Coffee Stain will be able to somehow optimize them enough so we can use them again for decoration. On another note, Have you thought about sending the excess Petroleum Coke over to Coal generators instead of sinking it? It would help offset how much power the mega factory would be using.

Depends if you use the english or american version. 😁
@flar4282
@flar4282 Жыл бұрын
Well, that's the trick about it. Brits and Americans not only say it different, but _spell_ it differently. Here in the States it's spelled Aluminum, over there they spell it aluminium. Now, because of this there should be no confusion about pronunciation - say it how it's spelled. In Satisfactory, it's spelled the American way, so it should be said that way - alu-mi-NUM. As a side note - as a machinist that works in metal, hearing the British version can almost make me wince! :)

I don't understand why you are using smart splitters for overflow, as every normal splitter has overflow built in 🙂
@ItsBitz
@ItsBitz Жыл бұрын
It creates better control and makes a visual indication to those who prefer that method; some people understand. Differently, that's all. Catering for all
@mh-sn9dt
@mh-sn9dt Жыл бұрын
The problem is not splitting the overflow but merging it again with other overflow. You wouldn't need smart splitters if there were smart mergers where you can set which input to use first. Not using smart splitters may cause a backlog on one line while another runs dry and machines stop. I guess it's a problem you have not yet encountered.
@zamp7808
@zamp7808 Жыл бұрын
@@mh-sn9dt Overflow is a basic function of every splitter I don't know what you are on about, if one output is saturated everything goes to the other two. That is how overflow works, the use case for smart splitters is to filter items, not use overflow. lol
@takingthescenicroute1610
@takingthescenicroute1610 Жыл бұрын
A normal splitter does not exclusively overflow and will leech 1/3 (or 1/2 if only two outputs are used) of the products when running at less-than (or at par with) the full capacity currently available at the output belts. An output on a smart splitter set to overflow exclusively overflows. No products go out the overflow output *until* the other conveyor outputs fully back up. The "old way" before smart splitters get unlocked was to daisy-chain the splitters sufficiently (also note the unused outputs need to back-feed to inputs for this to work so an equivalent number of mergers was also required) so the leeching went down to 1/4, 1/8, 1/9, 1/16, 1/27 (depending on number of outputs used) to reduce---but never eliminate---the amount of leeching. Before peaceful (particularly when alpha mobs were present) I'd use smart splitters with overflow and AWESOME sinks to create build-and-forget miners (miners on foundations only spawnkill if they stay in the green) in remote places to keep the area spawnkilled (after killing them once with the basher). When the other output's conveyor was later used there was no need to return to location of the miners, they would simply automatically stop sending ore to the sinks whenever the other output started moving. The mobs would be gone if I ever needed to return to those miners to upgrade the miner or overclock it.

It always strikes me as humorous the way we Americans and you Brits pronounce "aluminum". Yeah, I spelled it the American way. Just goes to show how we can speak the same language, yet our respective idioms, insults and pronunciations can be so different. I like to use the coal version of the aluminum recipe, as it is 1 to 1 with the sloppy alumina recipe. And the output amount lends itself well to many things. Although, you can really only use two refineries per Mk. 5 belt. And I then use the excess water generated to make wet concrete, with a smart splitter to sink excess when storage fills up. Can't have enough concrete in this game I've found.

I never thought it would be so difficult to get a save game I want to test my cpu to see if it can cope with so many builds, but it seems that the Satisfactory people don't like to share them or maybe i talk with the wrong people. why do i want to test ? it's simple, i don't want to play for hundreds of hours and get to a point where the game is so laggy that i have to stop playing the game, with a save game i can see if my cpu can handle it and if it can't i can make changes to the game settings to make it better...
