Alvarez 8-string Baritone ABT60CE-8SHB first impression

This guitar with its long scale and 8-string baritone configuration is just different from anything else you are likely to play, like a hybrid of Ledbetter type long scale 12-string with a regular guitar. It is also unfeasibly reasonable in cost!

After getting a return authorised for this, DPD failed to collect, and I changed my mind despite having bought a Guild which sounds very different. I have decided to work on the peculiar string space and modify the nut, bridge and saddle as needed to fixed the issues which a) made it sound great b) made it really hard to pick the strings accurately. It sounds sufficiently different from the Guild to be a different instrument. And that's me with TWO more guitars when I needed to disposed of some instead.
