In 1980 I was shy and introverted but one hell of a break dancer and then I saw at the invite of Mr Luther Cox Jr The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater my life was changed I studied dance and had a great career as a modern dancer Mr Ailey , Baba Chuck Davis and Mr Arthur Mitchell, gave voice to a very shy and introverted young boy and I am forever grateful thank you.

He's brilliant! I had the honor of working with him in Washington D.C. It was an unforgettable 4 months. He was so giving, engaging, honest and I loved every minute in the studio with him, Billie Wilson and Doris Jones at the Capital Ballet Company.

Hi Charmaine. I am doing a research paper on Alvin Ailey. I wonder if you could help me. I want to know what methods did he use to extract such emotion out of his dancers? Even when some of those dancers did not go through the same amount of poverty as Ailey did.
