so gorgeous & so much cleaner than all the other live versions! thank you so much for the post! now just need to convince alvvays to release their power pop/shoegaze/punk covers double album with more hummingbirds, falling joys, the someloves, the stems, the hoodoo gurus, the go-go's, the bangles, susanna hoffs, matthew sweet, redd kross, the orange humble band, the church, lush, the feelies, ultra vivid scene, the stone roses, ride, the charlatans, yo la tengo, nada surf, the connells, r.e.m., the byrds, ccr, the rolling stones, the beatles, the who, the ramones, the jam, the clash, & of course teenage fanclub!

I don't understand how this group isn't as huge as any other current Top 40 pop group. Their songs are intelligent and thoughtful (I know this particular one is a cover). I can't help but compare them to giants like REM, Paul Simon, and Paul McCartney. They've issued three albums, and each one of them is full of pop music masterpieces. I would have thought their audience ranged much further than just the indie scene. Hell, even on the indie radio station I listen to, they get almost no air play. It's a shame.

As an indie band, they are big enough. And their last album is more shoegazy, way less poppy than the two others.
