Alvvays are like your high school friends who formed a band and then created great music after focusing the talents. The strong writing and pleasant vocals create pleasant melodies, yet there is also just enough sprinkling of dark lyrics to let you know that they experience and explore the same hardships we are all trying to navigate through.

While I respectfully disagree I absolutely love this song and completely why you'd rank it #1. It's dark and unlike any of their other songs and yet so beautiful. For a band that gets compared to 'sunshine breaking through clouds' they can be brutally sarcastic and bitter.

Welcome to the obsession, there's no turning back. I love the sound of the first album too (some credit to Chad van G - and it was recorded here in Calgary where I live, which blows my mind), and it's slightly rough, garage-sound. Works so well with those songs. But after many, MANY listenings I feel Antisocialtes and Blue Rev are real (and necessary) steps forward. I love the totality of the 3 albums' sounds more than any other band's. Which, believe me, is shocking for someone in their 60s.
