I'm still figuring out my solo style. I have found that I really enjoy journaling. I've been using pre-written adventures for a great story. It's tough to avoid spoilers, but I read small bits and write my character's response to what's happening. Yes, it's like writing a book, but it's my story. What the character says and does and how the story changes is all based on my thoughts and the dice. Isn't that what RPGing is all about? Is basically story telling.

I get that same feeling too when writing it all down. I genuinely does feel like writing a book but it all flows so naturally. Also I feel like writing dialogue for me is really helpful in making the characters come to life and learning about my character as I play. Thanks for the response!

In this soloist opinion, I would vote Ironsworn as a starter rpg. However each person is different.
